I'm looking to buy a 40-42" TV in the $400-$450 range. I've tried posting in the "help me choose an LCD" but got no responses from that, so I figured I'd ask this way. I already have specific models in mind so it should be easier to give advice/thoughts on the matter.
My major inputs are a PS3 and a cable box. Not much else. Also hoping to one day add in a sound system probably.
The room has large windows that flood in light in the morning. The room can get pretty bright.
I've thought of plasma before but this is my parents' money and they're so hardpressed on not getting plasma (due to unchangeable plasma myths ingrained in them) that I can't convince them. Oh well.
The $400 price tag is enticing and the cheapest of the bunch, with surprisingly 3 HDMI inputs and 1 USB. I have a Sharp AQUOS at home from years ago that I love, but this isn't part of the AQUOS line so I'm not sure how it stacks up to the others. Is it worth $50 to jump to the other ones on this list? 15,000 dynamic CR. I don't know if this even matters really, but I have nothing to go with right now besides raw specs.
$430 on Amazon right now. Many of the input/outputs have been stripped away I've been told on this model/2012 lineup. The dynamic contrast ratio seems to be a lot more than the others on this list, but again, I don't know how much of a difference that makes.
$450. 3 HDMI. Dynamic CR: 20,000. I have a nice older VIERA at home that I'm pleased with, but I'm not sure how this one stacks up.
$430. 2 HDMI. 40" screen compared to the others, so it's not the best budget-wise, but I'm hoping to get your guys' thoughts on the picture quality in relation to the others.
If you guys could throw in your choice out of those or some other TV, that'd be great. Any help would be much appreciated.
