Hello, I have been searching for tvs for awhile and these two have seemed like the best for my price range (I will gladly take any suggestions though). I will mainly be using this for gaming (all kinds) and sports (football, basketball, hockey, and baseball). So I was wondering how these tvs performed in these situations. Thanks for your time.

Don't know about that specific TCL, but if one is to believe references to it in various CNET reviews for other sets like Samsungs, the Samsung is the obvious choice. I had a UN46EH5000, panel version TS02 (Samsung S-PVA panel), and it was a great TV. I ultimately ended up with the UN46EH6030 since I wanted 120Hz for better motion and 3D was a nice bonus as well. Nevertheless, the EH5000 is worth getting if you want something cheaper than the EH6000 or EH6030. Also, the 60Hz EH5000 might be better for gaming (though I've had no input lag issues with the 120Hz 6030).

be aware that the S-IPS version of the LG has weak blacks/low contrast ratio and the vertical viewing angles are poor... if you get the A-MVA panel, it will be far better in those areas but likely have other issues of it's own (probably better off with a S-PVA panel Samsung TV if you want a *VA and not S-IPS)
