My Sharp LC-60C7450U started updating its firmware more than 90 minutes ago and has been stuck for over an hour at 67% as shown here. I called Sharp's tech support and they said someone will have to call back later. Anyone had this happen before? I won't unplug it since it says not to, but not sure if anything else will make it snap out of it.
My LC-70LE845U updated without incident.
There are others with problems, though, and a secondhand message from Sharp that the update might be corrupted.
I'll have to see if anything untoward occurs as a result. I had the random re-boot a couple of times back in August after an update.
The unplugging for 5 minutes fixed it -- I think I was the first to post that remedy...
I got a call back from Sharp who told me to unplug it anyways. That got the TV working again but I now cannot access Netflix or any other "smart" features until it successfully installs the update. It prompts me to do it over the network again, but still freezes at 67% requiring unplugging the power. I downloaded the new firmware to a USB drive and updated it that way- the TV first said that was "successful" but then says there was a "software update failure" when trying to access Netflix, and again prompts you to do a network update.
Nope- just tried updating again today and still gets stuck. While it's updating there's a bar on the screen that flashes and gets progressively bigger as it goes through the process. At 67%, it eventually stops flashing and that's where it locks up.
