I am looking for a bedroom TV, somewhere in the 46”-50” range for around $700. It must be LED, 120Hz, and I would like 4 HDMI. Network connectivity is a plus, but not necessary.
I spent most of the weekend shopping for TVs at BB and Sam’s, and this is what I’ve come up with as my top three choices:
The Hitachi seems pretty new according to their website (available Fall 2012), and so I can’t find any reviews on it. It is so new that the Sams’s Club website still shows the 2011 model, but the 2012 model is what’s in stock at my local store. It advertised supporting the Roku Streaming Stick which is also new for late 2012. The picture quality looked really good in person. That being said, I’m not sure if it’s true 120Hz, or simulated 120Hz…all these manufacturer’s have some BS terminology like Reel120 Motion, TruMotion, Smooth Motion, or something to that effect.
Same with the LG…I’m not sure if it’s a true 120Hz.
The Panny looks nice on paper, but I haven’t checked it out in person yet, as it wasn't on sale while I was in-store, so I didn't look at it. Amazon is full of mixed reviews, and CNET made it sound terrible.
Each TV is around the $700 mark, with the Hitachi being slightly cheaper. Any thoughts on which one to purchase?
