Succumbed to the marketing and the "Design Story" video ( http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/07/samsung-es9000-smart-tv-design-story/ )and bought and had one delivered today!

Is there any ideal settings and or calibration settings?

Anyone have any questions for me?

I genuinely do not know why I bought this thing other than I liked the Design Story, was to cheap to buy a 4K TV and it wasn't a Sharp!

What are using for a source?

Is it solipsistic in here, or is it just me?

Some free Phillips BluRay player.

My life revolves around my MacBook Pro - so that's my source, can't quite manage to get it looking great with it so far though.

Not played with it much, will go buy a few new BluRay's today!

What's wrong with it? You unimpressed with the picture quality? You played around with the picture settings? Considering the TV model is new sometimes you need some trial and error. Maybe some calibrated ES8000 settings would help though I guess the 9000 is similar.

Okay, did exactly that, copied the Calibrated Settings from one of the Threads - picture is actually phenomenal.

Watched Men In Black 3, in 3D, and was blown away.

Shame 3D is a dying breed.

Honestly, an incredible television!

Hi,

Congrats on your purchase. I have had this tv for a few days now and i have found some clouding on dark scenes. Do you have any clouding on yours?
The picture is great but it falls a little short over the Panasonic VT50.

cheers

The picture may fall short, but it's certainly taller and wider. smile.gif

There is no difference in HDMI cables. If you can see the picture without visible dropouts or sparklies, the cable is working at 100%. No other cable will display a better version of that picture. You're simply wrong if you think there is a better digital cable than one that is already working. (Oh, and plasma didn't die because of logistics problems, nor does OLED ship in big boxes because it comes from Korea.)

I've had my ES9000 for a few weeks now and am still thrilled by the picture quality. Have you adjusted your settings? I noticed that I have a tendency to turn the brightness and contrast up.

I notice a slight amount of Bleed on the Darkest Scenes of Prometheus but the picture quality is honestly the best I have ever seen!

Tried my best to replicate the "Clouding" issue but it just isn't there... I guess I got a good one!

What calibration settings are you referring to, since settings for any one owner are a function of; user's eyesight, room day and night time room lighting, program source, owners signal receiving equipment and other factors.
