I've been wondering: Has Amazon been pre-allotted the lower quality panels by the manufacturers so that the B&M stores get the best in-store viewing?

I've purchased two TV's (Samsungs) from Amazon and feel like I've "won" the panel lottery, so I do not ascribe to your theory.

How about Wal-mart. Believe it or not my local wal-mart has the Sharp LC-80LE844U . My wife who could care less about tvs fell in love with it. Any concerns or are they shipped randomly?

No way, it's just based on luck what batch Amazon or brick&mortar stores get. There is no time or money in the manufacturing process to be binning TVs after they are assembled.

What I'm wondering doesn't require a holding back of anything. Amazon is certainly able to get the best panels.

What I'm wondering is if during the fulfillment of orders for any particular month, if a bias is given toward B&M stores. Nothing held back...just whatever is currently available for coinciding batch orders.

This question comes up frequently and the answer is always a resounding NO!!!! So, if you have your own theory, so be it.

My LM7600 from BB has light bleeding issues at the top and heard the same from many so I don't think this conspiracy theory is true.

no offense usually (most of the time) the panels at walmart are lower end....even though you will find most brands at walmart, they are not the top tier or flagship models for each manufacturer....

As BoilerJim stated, there is no way Amazon or any online dealer will get the panel types they want and the same is true for your local B&M. It is all by chance depending on when the retailer places their order and what the mfr has on stock at the time the orders are shipped. The only way you can be "assured" of getting the panel you want is to go to your local B&M, and if you know what the product codes mean and how to decipher them, you can check the boxes and if you find what you want, buy it. That's how I got the panel type I wanted for my LG. Basically I lucked out because BB had them in stock and I knew what to look for. I went back a week later out of curiosity and they still had the same model but the product code was different which indicated a different panel type. It's all by luck. Period.
