Yesterday, I installed my new 50" LG LS4000 Led/Lcd tv. The picture is excellent on HD channels and on Blu-Ray. However, whenever I select a non-HD channel a get a severe snow storm, with thousands of little "sparklies" as I call them. It is fed by a Shaw HD cable box/Dvr and I never experienced this on my Hitachi RPTV

Is this normal and if not, how do I get rid of this issue?

Thank you for your assistance. I'll be back on line around 12:30 EST.

I solved the problem by upgrading my cable service so that all HD channels are available to me, the networks and most specialty channels. Thanks to all who read my post.
