You might be able to verify if the problem is a 'Gate Tab Bond' issue by applying pressure around the bezel to see if the symptom goes away. Failure is due because the electrical contact in this area is made by pressure.
A service tech would correct the problem by replacing the entire panel, but this is not economically a viable solution, as the assembly typically will cost more then a new TV.
However, some folks have effected a DIY solution by inserting additional high density/rubber material to increase the pressure contact. A search on 'tab' or 'tab bond' should provide more information on this repair (e.g. instructions w/ pictures, youtube videos etc.).
If the problem is not due to the 'tab bond', then you have an issue with the TCON board, or the cable between it and the panel.
Sometimes the cable requires reseating into the connectors and/or contact cleaning.
Replacement TCON boards should be available for around $50-$75.
While checking the cable and board replacement is often a DIY repair, given that you said your not technical, you might not want to attempt.
Alternatively, a qualified service tech repair of the above might cost the better part of a new set (e.g. labor).
