$300 for a different Smart Hub screen. Pretty impressive.

A new one every year until 2017.

Even more impressive.

Impressive? Are you serious or being sarcastic? You mean you are willing to dish out $300 every year for a new evo kit?

wow you must be rolling on a lot of money...why dont you just buy a brand new TV every year instead? lol...

and technicallly it's $400 on amazon and not even in stock yet...I'll buy them when they drop the price all the way to $99, trust me it wont take long, there will be no demand for this...if this evo kit is so great they should have had available for every single samsung smart tv, not just the 7500 series and above.....

THIS IS COMICAL.....

I was definitely being sarcastic.

Why does it take a QUAD CORE processor to run a fairly simple GUI?

I rarely use it anyway. I like the interface for movies, Pandora, etc. on my other equipment better.

I believe it's the voice recognition feature... the quad core can process and retrieve requests faster than a dual.

It is so they can milk more money out of current TV owners, while they wait for their TV to wear out in 5 or 6 years. Good business, I guess. mad.gif

with all due respect....DUH....lol...of course a quad is faster than a dual....lol....hehehe... honestly the gestures and voice controls are all a gimmick....

when the rubber meets the road the EVO KIT is a ploy to keep us sucked into their HORRIBLE user interface each and every year...all about the MONEY...

pretty much what apple does to their fan boys( no upgradable storage, battery on iphones).... is all about control....like the matrix....lol

I understand their rationale.....but I DO NOT need a CPU telling me and recommending me what I like or do not like..... much like Netflix UI...they THINK they know what I want to watch....all a big GIMMICK...that's all.... and only for $400...lol.... eek.gif

I think the EVO KIT is a GREAT concept...seriously, no sarcasm now... but for $400 this damn piece of S.hiatt should last for at least 5-7 years much like the PS3 has...all only with firmware updates....

Now asking us to buy a NEW EVO KIT every year is just plain RIDICULOUS and a SLAP ON OUR FACES....SHAME on samsung....

I will be DAMNED if I buy a new evo kit every year for the next 7 years....BULL SH.iatz.... mad.gif

It's actually nothing like Apple because they are offering an upgrade without the purchase of new device... with all due respect smile.gif

And I was pointing out the fact that enhanced voice control requires faster processing power and not that is simply faster... I would assume most people even yourself knows 4 is better than 2.

I will probably buy one. When the price adjusts to the supply. Just because I like to buy techie stuff that I don't really need, and then slap myself later for buying it.

Same here. I bought an es7500 thinking that I would be able to "upgrade" with the evolution kit. The upgrades they are talking about for the price they are talking about just doesn't match though. I'm not too upset though because I love my 7500. It's just kind of a bummer to not have the s recommendation feature. That's really the only thing I wanted. Not because I need it, just because I thought it was cool looking lol.

Here's something interesting, I was at Costco earlier today and checked out their new line of 2013 sets. They were featuring a new lower end Samsung 6 series 60 inch for around $1,900. One thing I noticed was the improved smart hub was available on these sets as well and I thought to myself there's no way the lower end models could have quad core processing... low and behold when I checked online they are in fact dual core, http://www.costco.ca/Samsung%C2%AE-UN55F6300-55-in.-Smart-TV-1080p-LED-HDTV**.product.100041110.html

So the simple fact is Samsung is flat out lying, the small possibility that this new interface requires more processing is total ******** and will run perfectly fine on two cores. 300 dollars for a software update....

+1, I have the F7100 and its has a dual processor.

I have Smart Hub 2.0, S-Recommendation, The Touch Screen Remote, Cinema Black, Voice Control and the option for Gesture Control (with an added webcam).

This HDTV also is cloud-free as (Samsung stated at the VE Shootout that) they now separate and shield the electronics boards that caused heat from the panel.

Samsung also greatly improved the uniformity to make banding negligible.

The question is how fast does the new 2013 Smart Hub on a dual core processor, especially the web browser?

After comparing all the different EVO kits from Philips, LG, Sony with the one from Samsung, I finally ordered the latter :-)

I received a shipping notice today.

And yes, shame on all the other companies NOT to give a possibility at all to upgrade your TV..

TV: Samsung 55ES7500 (with Evo Kit) / Video: LG BP620 (region- & code-free) / Audio: Samsung DA-751 / VOD: ATV2 (with XMBC) / NAS: Time Capsule / Tablet: iPad2 / Cell: HOX+

From an online shop in Switzerland - only some received stock so far. Price was around $250.

Once you get the kit can you tell us if it does improve PQ and if the 2013 Smart Hub and web browser are faster with the quad core processor? Thanks.
