So it follows that the remote supplied with the SEK-2000 is not the same as that supplied with "H" series sets, right?

I'm not sure which remote comes with the H series. If the h series is a 2014 smart tv, then it should come with the same remote as the sek2000.

The remote that comes with the SEK-2000 is similar to the bluetooth remote that ships with H series LED tvs. The remote also works with the SEK-1000 although the functionality is a bit different. As to universal remotes, My tivo remote was programmed to turn the ES7500 on and off and to control the volume and this function works both without either evolution kit as well as with eithet SEK-1000 or SEK-2000 installed. I can't speak to other universal remote features. I also do not have an Ipad and can't speak as to the functionality of using an Ipad with the SEK-2000, SEK-1000 or without either.

on/off and volume works with IR remote on all versions. the networkbased tvremote for 3rd party devices control works also on my es8000 with evokit if you have the old samsung remotehub connected.
still no sign of evokit 2000 here in netherlands.. according to samsung they're still working on the firmwarebugs and won't ship it untill that is solved.

I note that some individuals are selling the "new" remote on eBay. Comments about the new remote seem to favor it over the remote that came with the SEK-1000 (and 2013 TV sets). I wonder if these remotes will work with the SEK-1000 or if there are 2 versions of the new remote ???

only half.. tv power, volume up/down and channel up/down probably work, but to be able to use point n click it needs newer firmware and this firmware cannot be installed on a tv or tv+sek1000 as it is sek-2000 specific. however there is a chance it might work if it uses the bluetooth mouse input on the tv. i don't have my sek-2000 yet so i can't try it out, but i will when it finally get it.

Thanks for the information -- I don't think I'll be buying the new remote w/o a SEK-2000 :-)

welcome.. i think that would be best choice, but if you have a motion/voice controlled samsung like my es8000s then it might just work with this remote. perhaps you're better off waiting a bit until i or someone else tried the new remote on their tv or tv+sek1000. if u don't have a sek-1000 yet it is highly recommended to get a sek-2000 though.

Point and click and voice search do not work without the sek2000 evo box plugged in. I've tried it.

Why wouldn't voice interaction work in exactly the same way as with the remote that comes with the sek1000? Did you enable voice commands in the menu and press the voice button on the remote before trying it? I'm just asking since I don't use the voice control and didn't test that out when I used the 2014 remote with the SEK-1000.

I agree that point and click doesn't work, but you can arrow up or down or across and click to select things. Otherwise the reomte seems to be fully functional. It's only the features that are specific to the 2014 smart tv models that don't work without the new evolution kit.

Is this known for sure? I was hoping the units themselves were the same and just firmware differences as tuners are in the tv.

My F8000 will be delivered this Wednesday. Have been wondering about the same thing myself. Let me know your feedback if you have gone with the SEK-2000 evo kit for your F8000.

I have an E8000 series plasma with the sek-1000. I don't use motion or voice control - ever. I found the sek-1000 worth every penny for the Smart interface and the much improved remote. I doubt that I'll spring for the sek-2000 -- but "There's always next year" :-)

OK, I have the es8000 but NEVER used the voice or motion control.I also don't use smart hub features other then browsing the net or you tube.I find things load slowly when web browsing & youTube from time to time just freezes when watching longer vids, more then 15-20min vids.
What are the differences between the 1st & 2nd evo kits OTHER then the remotes that I May be interested in.
Is there ANY features added that were removed from es8000 sets in the beggining & is there something added that helps sharpen/cripen/speed things up PQ wise.
I wasn't all that interested in the 1st evo since i heard more then enuff complaints plugging it in & tv's going bad/wonky.
THX in Advance.

SEK-2000/ZA....Any GOOD ?

me too.. the speed improvement alone was enough for me to get the sek-1000. the new interface and skype was the second reason. i'm just getting the sek-2000 coz i can sell my sek-1000 to a friend otherwise i would be seriously doubting buying the sek-2000 as i see no usable improvements over a sek-1000.

sek-2000 has same issues but samsung has an firmware update for that. most issues come from not updating the tv prior to installing the evokit and not following the correct steps. evokit is a nice thing to have as it speeds up your es8000 a lot and with the 2000 kit the youtube and webbrowser are a lot faster and more stable. also there are some nice new features for digital tv like the whats on tv and drawing the channelnumber on the remote pad and some other stuff. sek-1000 will make u happy, sek-2000 donno if that make u even happier.

I mostly use the Smart Hub for the highest resolution when using HBO Go & Netflix. They output in full 1080p via the Smart Hub, unlike game systems like the PS3/Xbox 360 which limit output for their video streaming apps to 720p upscaled

I'm still happily using the SEK-1000. I will eventually get the new SEK-2000 but I'm in no hurry until the price drops considerably or I snag a deal. I don't see it as a huge upgrade over what I already have

Hi guys,
I have a 65F8000 and I'm thinking about buying SEK-2000. Can anyone check if Samsung added the option to switch between big and small picture in PIP (picture in picture) mode.

Without this PIP is pretty much useless for me (although I managed to program my Logitech harmony remote to make 4 clicks needed for enabling PIP)

Has anyone tested input lag with the SEK-2000 with a PNxxF8500? The F8500s have some pretty serious lag and I really hope this kit will help get it to a respectable level (even the game mode trick is a bit under par).

Thanks to rckrz6 who ran some input lag tests with the first evo kit... though those results are extremely disappointing and leave me with little hope for the new kits...

This option didn't exist before, so can you confirm that it exists now and is there a separate key for it on the new remote?

See image below taken from a SEK2000, size existed on the ES8000 too. And no there is no separate PIP button on the new remote.

OK, I understand you now.
I was actually thinking about swapping the PIP windows (what was main picture (big one) goes to PIP (small one) and viceversa), and not changing their size.
But if there is not a separate button on the remote, I suppose this is not possible.

Thanks

Evo Kit SEK 2000 disables my bluetooth module

I have an ES8000 and Samsung just recently swapped my SEK 1000 for the SEK 2000 becuase I was having issues with my remote unpairing form the tv. Now with the SEK 2000, I'm having the same problem. I have double checked my remote and it is sending out a bluetooth signal because my phone can find the it. However, my tv 's bluetooth address isn't listed when I go intot he menu under contact samsung. I've reasearched this but can't find anyone else having this issue. If I take the evo kit off the tv and restart it, the bluetooth works just fine. Samsung keeps trying to replace the remote which I know isn't the issue. Not having bluetooth also doesn't allow me to us the 3D glasses. I have been going back and forth with Samsung for about 7 weeks now. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem and it was a hardware problem with the TV. It was repaired once and when it failed again I refused a repair and asked for my money back. It seems that a lot of 2012 8 series TVs have a failing BT/WiFi chips.
