Maybe that's why the newer models don't have that es8000 BT dongle like thing for glasses any more..............just a thought.
Seems they figured it out & us 2012 owners are left with luck of the draw...........
I am scared using an evo kit will mess something up...........i really wouldn't mind getting the newer evo #2 but not feeling to confident in the way sammy handles problems.

Remember. the FINAL 4K Specifications have not been arrived at yet! Why BD Players Manufacturers have been holding off. They don't want to put out a product that will be obsolete the day after tomorrow. Unfortunately, TV Producers aren't of the same mentality.

The 2014 UHD Evolution Kit was designed for the 2013 TVs so uninstall it and go backto the one connect that came with your UN65HU9000FXZA.

Does the SEK-2000 change the behaviour of the digital audio output at all?

The most annoying thing with my ES8000 is that I have to manually enable Dolby/DTS output every time I watch a video (in Samsung Link or other apps) which has it, because the TV always defaults to outputting stereo over SPDIF. So every time I have to do:

Menu -> Sound -> Additional Settings -> SPDIF output -> Audio Format -> then select Dolby Digital or DTS

The best audio mode is:

PCM - Line

PCM is an uncompressed audio signal. The TV sends the original sound of the source to external speakers through SPDIF (optical) in correct format (Dolby Digital, DTS...). are the speakers or home cinema which decode the signal audio in their format original.

Samsung tvs only output 2 channel PCM.

To answer the original question, my SEK-2500U remembers that I selected DD, not sure about the SEK-2000.

Not sure if I understand your comment, but my HU8550 outputs DD 5.1 over ARC HDMI when watching movies with the Vudu app.

Sure it does if you select dolby digital in sound menu. But if you select PCM it only outputs stereo.

So I just received my SEK-2000 and was installing it in my UN60ES8000, but I can't get the thing to work. I made sure the updates were applied before installing it, but nothing happens after I turn the tv on, no updates or anything. The current firmware version on my tv is 001054? Any ideas??? I tired taking it out and putting it back in at least 7 times but still nothing. Is there a way to tell if the unit is getting power? I guess I am trying to figure out is the unit bad or is it the tv causing the problem?

Did you plug the SEK in with the Power Cord removed from the wall? If not, hopefully no damage was done. Try again with the Power Disconnected. Then put power plug back in. Still not working - try the Factory Reset in the Service Menu without the SEK.
(Remember, shutting the TV Off, is actually putting it into Standby Mode - in other words, it's still somewhat on.)

Hi. I have a 2013 65" UHD TV F9005. I just bought my evolution kit. Went home installed it. And things are weird. Netflix was there but dissapeared. Now I can't install it. Download.300. And then software update has a update that just seems to be repeating itself. The TV has update 1150. I know there is a 2221. And when I choose software update it starts directly at 89% goes to 100%. Shuts down and then on. But it is still on 1150. Using a USB to install 2221 does not seem to work. It does not ask me if I want to use the usb. It just goes straight to the internet to look for a update.

Anyone with similar problems?

The UHD Content CY-SUC05SF/ZA that came complementary from Samsung will not play on TV's that have the SEK2500U/ZA connected. But the UHD Video Pack CY-SUC10SH/ZA will play with TV's having the SEK2500U/ZA connected. Whereas the UHD Video Pack CY-SUC10SH/ZA will not play with the original one connect box connected to the TV.

The current available update for the F9000 with the 2014 UHD Evolution Kit is 1150. 2221 is for the 2013 One Connect and will not install on the Evolution Kit.

Please, do NOT plug in Evolution Kits with the Power Cord in the Wall!!!!
Turning the TV to Off, only means you're putting the set into STANDBY, NOT Actually OFF!!!!

I just installed SEK 2000 for my F8005 TV. I didn't expect much about the KIT it self, but I was hoping to get more power to web browsing. Okay, maybe the UI is slightly better than the original, but my biggest disappointment was picture quality! I understood from the product advertisement ("between the lines") that KIT may improve the picture quality, however in my case it got worse. All channels are more blurry then before (HD & SD cannels) same apply to recordings that I have made before installation. Has anyone experienced similar? or do you know how to get picture quality back at least same the level than before (not by removing the KIT).

I haven't seen a similar issue, but some needed to re calibrate their picture settings after installing the upgrade. I suggest you reset your picture settings and go through the calibration / fine tuning again.

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if the one connect box controls the clear motion rate (1200),pur color, micro dimming, UHD dimming or is those features built into the panels? I see the new line up of 9000 series UHDs has upgraded specs in these categories . Will we be getting those kind of upgrades in the SEK2500 with our 2013 model UN65F9000? 1440 CMR, UHD dimming, pur color, wide color enhancer plus, auto depth enhancer, instant on,etc.
I see the un65f9000 has a SLIM LED panel and the new models label the panel "UHD 4K LED" are these the same panels and just named different?
Thank you for any input.

Some feedback. Unfortunately tuning the picture didn't help. I contacted Samsung service and we tired to update firmware by USB, but it was unsuccessful. They took remote connection to TV and tried to do something, no luck. Now, I could take the Kit back to store where they can test the functionality, if it works in some other supported TV:s. If they can't find any problems from the Kit, I can take my TV to service for check up. I am getting tired and ready to give up. I'll return the Kit back to store and spend the money in Soundbar. I hope that it will bring me some satisfaction after all.
