(Remember, shutting the TV Off, is actually putting it into Standby Mode - in other words, it's still somewhat on.)
I followed the correct procedures, the unit was just dead. Anyway, they sent me a brand new one, and this one works great except for one thing. After setting it all up, and re-doing the IR blaster, I have noticed a very bad annoyance. When I turn the TV off now, my DVR also turns off, which obviously is not a good thing, because none of the shows will record. I haven't found a way to stop this from happening short of Turning off the IR Blaster, which defeats the purpose of buying the kit? Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this?

Good Morning All,

So I need some guidance/advise. I have an 2012 PS51E8000 PDP and yesterday decided to buy the new EVO kit. To be specific SEK2000/XC.

So I have updated my TV to the latest firmware 1027 switched of the TV, powered it down and plunged in the EVO kit. Power up again and and the Kit is detected and processes 100%. Beyond this nothing happens it tries to update but says that there are now updates available.

My built in WiFi now does not work and the supplied LAN also does not work. The only way to get it connected to the internet is via the built in LAN port. Every time I switch the TV on/off the same cycle is repeated but the EVO kit never installs.

Also I am unable to pair the new remote with the TV, only function available and working on the remote is the on/off button.

Any ideas?

By the way, when you unplug the EVO kit, all works once again 100%.

Regards,

Tomas

Installed SEK-2000 on an ES8000 and everything works well except for 3d where it is experiencing crosstalk. I removed the evo kit and played the same scene on a 3d movie and the crosstalk was gone. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Evo Kits - A step forward, or backward - sounds like backward to me? Appears more like de-evolving.

bluetooth remotes won't stay paired to TV

I've recently added the SEK-2000 to my 2012 F7000 TV. I followed the instructions re fully isolating the TV and it appeared to complete the installation process correctly and updated the firmware to v1003 (which appears to be the latest).
However after a few days the new 2014 remote stopped working. I try to pair it (the two buttons for 3 seconds) and the TV identifies it as the remote but then fails to pair. I used the original remote to factory reset the TV and went through the whole process again (multiple times). At the moment the TV will not pair the remote, keyboard or IR blaster (it recognises each device as the correct type). In order to complete the installation I've had to tell the TV I have no live channels as it won't complete the settop box option without the IR blaster.
I can see the smarthub if I use the original TV remote but moving through pages appears to need the new bluetooth one.

I have had to use a wired network connection as the TV failed to find any wireless networks at all (even though I have a sky booster in the same room). Not sure if this is another symptom of something not working!

I've raised a support case with Samsung support UK as I have not been able find any forum post with a similar issue. I'll update when I hear anything. I'm reluctant to remove the evolution kit to test wireless and bluetooth unless support ask me to, because as far as I'm aware they were both working before (I'd not used teh smarthub features for a few weeks before the upgrade)

Thanks
Dave

Some advice.

Will the SEK-2000/ZA work on Australian Samsung Models such as UA60ES8000?

I have the SEK-1000/XY installed and works well but in reading the forums there still appears to many issues.

I can't get the local Samsung people to make any sense re the availability or support in Australia.

Comments?

If your set needs the SEK-1000/XY then it seems logical to expect that it would need the SEK-2000/XY rather than the SEK-2000/ZA.

Works fine on my ES7500 and the sek2000 browser, smart hub, and new remote are worth the upgrade to me.

Hey guys,

I am not an active member of this forum. I have been mostly lurking around, but I do have a questions.

I have a UN55ES8000 TV and would like to purchase an evolution kit. I am unsure of which one I need though. I found 3 available, but not sure what the difference is between them nor which one is the one I need for my TV.

I have found the following:

SEK-1000
SEK-2000
SEK-2500

Please advise as to which one I would need to purchase, and if either one of them would work with my TV, then what is the difference between them?

Please help me out

I have the same model tv. You would want the SEK-2000 if you want the latest and greatest and don't mind paying more for it. Or the SEK 1000 from last year which is about 100 dollars cheaper and almost identical minus the remote's wii-like movement capabilities and few other features. I personally don't think the 2000 is much more than an incremental update compared to the 1000. As for the 2500 that's for 4K tv's only I'm pretty sure

This time next year, the SEK-2000 will be cheaper if you're not in a rush!
