www.sparco.com is showing eta for these of May 15 and their price of $301.61 is nearly $100 cheaper than amazon. http://www.sparco.com/cgi-bin/wfind2...8#.VUPqiI5VhBf

Samsung continued its excellent initiative to offer a remote housing that incorporates connectivity, HDMI chipset, but also the CPU, GPU, multimedia chipset and other components. This allows to change the TV every year and with the premises of 4K, knowing that many compatibilities are not yet present, it is practically essential for the sustainability of the TV.
The One Connect 2015 already offers a great support UHD with HEVC compatibility for tuners and multimedia management, and 2160p compatibility 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 im / s, compatibility YCbCr 4: 4: 4 and 10 bits per color (especially interesting with 10 bit panel) and HDR technology. It only lacks the ability to display the Rec.2020, but unfortunately it is still far enough! We also see it later in the test

This One Connect includes 4 HDMI 2.0 inputs. By examining the electronics of One Connect box, we can see an HDMI chipset Silicon Image Sil9777. This is the latest and most powerful in its class with support for HDCP 2.2, MHL 3.0, and support for all HDMI 2.0 specification (4K / 60, YCbCr 4: 4: 4 and encoding 10 bits per color). It will be updated soon HDMI 2.0a to manage the HDR. There is also an Ethernet port, the port owner "One Connect" to connect to the TV so output optics, a connector for the service, and finally through the Antenna and Satellite TNT with double tuner Freeview-HD, Cable and Satellite. This allows to record one channel while watching another program, or watch two channels simultaneously in PIP or PAP, or from your tablet or smartphone iOS and Android.

This should put issue to rest OCB does have the video processor inside ...
So, this will give the hu8550 4:4:4 capabilities? Isn't the hu8550 a 8-bit panel? So basically it would be 8-bit 4:4:4, or does this add some type of filtering/compression algorithm allowing it to achieve 10-bits of color? Does this also reduce the input lag which is clocked at 40ms on the hu8550 models?

That's all I want to know

So do you believe you will get the very same unit with guarantee and return for $100 less?? Doesn't sound right to me.

I believe most of the lcd panels for hu8550 are 10 bit, judging by the replacement parts being sold. For example: http://www.tvserviceparts.com/BN95-01369A.html

You can't beat Amazon for returns of defective merchandise. I don't know how easy the returns to Sparco will be, but I bought the SEK-2000 from them last year and I believe they are selling genuine Samsung parts at a substantial discount. My theory is that they are reselling parts stocked by Ingram Micro (judging by the warehouse locations) and having Ingram Micro ship the parts directly to consumers. They could make a thin margin without having the expense of carrying an inventory.

I currently see the 85HU8550 on sale at niceelectronics.com, but I saw this and it got me wondering.

8-bit? http://www.niceelectronics.com/prodi...phcxoC5_Xw_wcB

10-bit? https://www.niceelectronics.com/prodinfo.phtml?id=736

Why the $3500 upcharge for the 10-bit version?

The U.S model (FXZA) is a 10-bit panel? So, it doesn't matter where I buy it at as long as model is U.S residential it'll be a 10-bit panel?

Guys,

I am confused a bit here. I own the 2014 78HU9000 and I am looking for the correct evolution kit. (i.e. new one connect box). Today, I pre-ordered the SEK-3500U/ZA on Amazon for 399.99. Is this the correct box? I thought it was until I viewed the below webpage that describes the new evolution kit, but does not mention my model as compatible.(webpage was written today) Any input would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

the tizenexperts website has a typo, it says "2014 TV
HU6900 and about" what they meant to say was 2014 TV HU6900 and above

I'd check in the official 8550 thread for more clarification.
