Thanks for the info. Ordered! (Back-ordered, but I'm in no hurry.)

When I looked on the Samsung site (about 9am CDT this morning) after seeing the posts about the $49 price, they were listed as being on backorder. Has that changed?

I believe it's time to Overthrow VerticalScope..

Great Find! I just ordered one. At that price I don't care if the SEK-3000 comes out next month, and I end up ordering another EVO kit 30days later. Hopefully it is a sign that something is happening in the near future for Samsung to want to lower their inventory with such a HUGE discount. There really interesting part was I received an email from Samsung last week telling me that they were no plans to release an update Evo kit for the 2012 E8000's this year (Response to my request for a status on the SEK-3000)....Hence I am perplexed by the sale..unless it was a Samsung being nice to the public for not releasing an upgrade this year.......

This page shows $49.00, and now shows 2-4 week delivery (not backordered).

But what I wanna know is . . .
Does this mean they're dumping them for the new model to appear?
Or dumping them to completely wash their hands of the 2013 and older "upgradeable" TV's?

I believe it's time to Overthrow VerticalScope..

When you add it to your cart it shows $49.00 and ships within 1-3 days while supplies last.

Anyone considering this should read the reviews. One of the reviews claims that the wifi in your TV will no longer work after the upgrade so you must be hardwired. If true, this could present a problem for many people.

Mine arrives Friday the 14th I'm hard wired anyway but I will try it and see if the WiFi will still work. I thought that the lan / WiFi are part of the tv not the evolution kit! I will see Friday and report back if it disables the WiFi....

It's my understanding that the SEK2000 has an RJ-45 (ethernet) connector built in, and that when the SEK2000 is installed it disables the TV's built-in ethernet connections (both hardwired and wifi). If you can confirm this I'm sure others would be interested to know.

I hope it doesn't but I will find out and report back it just doesn't make sense that it would disable WiFi as we live in a WiFi world and getting away from a world with wired connections

I'm very pleased with my purchase of the SEK2000 buying it for $49.00 was a big plus. I was having trouble with my SEK1000 after the last firmware update Netflix never worked properly. Now with the new SEK2000 Netflix is working like it should. Steps I took to install the new SEK2000. First i turn tv off, unplug the tv, take off the SEK1000, plug the tv back in the go to the menu update firmware, turn tv off unplug attach SEK2000 plug tv in turn it on then just let it do it's thing. Then the fun starts logging in to all the apps.....

That's good to know. My network is hardwired to my TV also, but I know that many are not. I ordered the SEK2000 last night. I haven't been having any troubles with my 65F8000, but I decided that the upgrade may help prevent problems in the future. The only Apps I use are the Browser, Amazon Prime, and (very seldom) NetFlix.

i installed it on my 60E8000 which is a 2012 model as i was having trouble, right after the last firmware update. Before the update Netflix worked flawless then after the update Netflix would get through two episodes of a TV series then it wouldn't proceed to the third, i would get a message unable to connect to this title try again later or i would get a picture of the TV seies with no option to play anything.... i would have to close out of the app and start up the app again and all was fine till i got to the third episode. it was very annoying. the new SEK2000 works fine i'm happy again till i move up to a 4K TV.
make sure you read the installation procedure for your TV. the 2012 TV connect differently than the 2013 TV's. On my tv i have to connect the LAN to the SEK2000 i believe with your TV you connect to the LAN on the TV, not on the SEK2000
good luck.
