I checked the various picture settings but no option for screen fit for SD channels. Can only zoom.

I just checked my F8000 , I have Comcast , and I tuned to an SD -Ch. and screen fit was an option.

I tried it and it looked the same as 16X9.

That is good. I suspect I can't do that since I am using antenna.

could someone help me figure out how to use 3d on this?

i have the glasses and i bought fresh batteries, i play 3d on the tv using a htpc, see the blurry image, when i hold the glasses 1-2 feet from the screen i hold the button on the glasses untill i see the "connected" msg popup on the screen but see no 3d image threw the glasses.

ive tried all 4 pairs, is there something im doing wrong or any ideas of anything i can try?

Do you have a 3d blu ray player? Put a 3d disc in the try and see if the TV adjusts to 3d and your glasses after turning on are able to see 3d?

Hi guys,

I'm new here and I bought the UN55F8000 a month back, it's a great TV. Recently I got me a bluetooth headset which didn't come with a bluetooth dongle..i'm wondering is there any way I could connect this headset to my TV? Possibly using a bluetooth dongle, will that work??

I also have another Wireless Headphone, how can I connect it to my TV since it doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack?

Thanks in advance :)

I don't use a bluetooth headset but I did a search in google and came across this.

"have to add the BlueTooth (BT) audio transmitter and on some sets an Optical Audio to analog audio convertor."

I wasn't able to find anything more so not sure if the above can help or not. Maybe if someone here is using a bluetooth headset can speak up but not sure if anybody is using one. smile.gif

Thanks HPQ, appreciate your efforts :) it seems like a complicated process...Sigh

What about a non bluetooth headset, just a regular wireless one with an IR transmitter..how do I connect it??

After several emails back and forth to Tech Support,I came to a conclusion that they don't understand what I was asking (How do I set up a Bluetooth head set to the F8000). Their answer was kinda obtuse:
"Connect the USB device that came w/ the headphones and connect."
I have purchased several BT head sets over the years and NONE have come w/ a USB device. That's why they are BT...they don't (shouldn't need) a USB dongle! Please correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe they are referring to an RF set w/ a dongle? One of those that have a base unit operating at 2.4GHz?
Needless to say I gave up.
Good luck.

If you have the US model F8000 and the IR remote; put the TV in standby mode then press mute, 1, 8, 2, then power on. It takes a few seconds for the SM to display.

You'd like to trust Samsung's market research team and think they made the right move. But, had I not bought the F8000 I would have definitely gone with another manufacturer rather than buy a curved set...

Personally, I see the "curved" aspect as a marketing push.. Just to say, we can make the tv curved! But in reality, it may not be as successful as they think it will be. Time will tell. But, for me, I will stick with flat TVs. smile.gif

There is no "G" series. It's the H series for 2014. And there are no reviews to indicate how the picture quality compares to the 2013 flagships to draw a conclusion if the new series is worth the premium over the 2013 flagships.

Hi ,

Yes , I know there will be no "G" series wink.gif

The curved screen makes sense , but I am not ready to buy a new tv now anyway. ( I already have 4 eek.gif )

It will be interesting to see how they do , to see if the general public will embrace a curved screen or just chuckle at and say " now isn`t that stupid ".

Ordinary people don`t care about what a slight curve might do , of course we don`t either , at least not yet.

Non Videophiles really don`t care if the picture is good or bad rolleyes.gif , they just want to watch there favorite show.

It will be people like us that will decide the fate of the curved screen , the nit pickers and people that want the best from there gear.

And they think they are getting a great deal when they pay under $1000 for their 6000 series samsung 60" TV and you paid 2.5x that for your 8000 60" TV.

Everyone who comes over and sees my F8000 is blown away by the picture quality and comment on how life like it looks. My sister was saying "wow, that looks great" on almost every show and commercial and her boyfriend was quietly agreeing. Non-videophiles definitely appreciate a good picture, its just not something they feel is worth the premium price.

Of course there are those lower level functioning people who don't understand there is more to picture quality than just size and resolution, but I fortunately don't invite such people to my home smile.gif

Non - Videophiles do exist !!

Sad but true , most of the populous will go to a place like BB or P`s TV and say what a wonderful picture , I think I will buy one.

Have they done the research ? probably not.

Have they shopped around ? maybe.

Do they have a clue how a newer style tv works ? doubtful ?

So there it is , it all reverts but to the true videophiles after all !! smile.gif

So is $1500 a decent price for the 55F8000?

Id rather buy a 2014 model, but there's so much "marketing" in the features. I really narrowed it down to the 55F8000 or the 55W900A (which cant be purchased anywhere really now.)
