Thanks for the link! I just searched Best Buy's inventory near me, and there isn't a single store anywhere close to my home that has one in stock. They do, however, list the set as available for pickup at the warehouse in Woodridge, IL.

Thanks , grhopper , I have seen it on Amazon , but I would really like to see it and check it out in a store.
Need a close look at the stand , but given the only place in my area that may have one is BB
it will most likely be mounted on there wall.

However , I was unaware , of the 17th date , so that tells me it should be showing up on Samsung`s web site soon.
Hopefully , I`ll be able to download the manual.

Thanks again , later biggrin.gif

Just checked all 3 local Best Buys, and they all have them in the back but no display model is set up yet. One guy told me in the next week or two they would be setting them up. It looks to me like they're trying hard to push the old sets out first, even though they have them in stock.

Other than the two reviews I have seen in this forum has anyone come across any other reviews? I am looking to get the 75" in the fall if money allows :-)

Went to my local Best Buy (Gurnee, IL) asked the Magnolia guy if I could see their F8000. Was surprised and seemed pleased it was finally out. Of course, they didn't have one in stock. Said one was "on the way" in the system. He also said the 65" was listed at $4300 in their system. He's gonna call me when it's in.

If I get anxious I might take a trip to ABT (prolly the best electronics store on the planet).

$4,300 was also the original price of the 65ES8000 I believe.

Are you guys in the US getting the F8500 LED? This must have passed me by but it looks like it's the F8000 LED in a F8500 plasma frame and only £500 extra for the privilege

There's been no mention of it over here, except in this thread, of course. I like the looks better than the 8000, but if I get one it's going on the wall, so the stand won't matter.

At this price point, especially for the 75" which is the only one I'm interested in, I suppose an extra 500 or so whatevers won't make much difference. eek.gif

Although it's apparently a moot point on this side of the pond. rolleyes.gif

Thanks, it's just a variation on he F8000 then, seems a crazy price to pay for just a different frame, especially if wall mounted too

If by frame you mean the bezel, I don't think that removes, but if you mean the stand, or base, then I would assume it does.

Interestingly, according to Robert at VE, the 84" 4K Samsung has both a stand and a frame--which incorporates the speakers, BTW--which are removable.

Unfortunately, he doesn't think the set will be available without the stand, speakers, and frame, which I would like to see.

It said to rename the input to PC. I'm assuming they mean instead of it being labeled as HDMI 2 or whatever, you would change it to PC.

What I mean is the F8000 and F8500 LEDs are identical (from what I understand) apart from the bezel/ stand and both of them look decent, I wonder why one is £500 (750 USD) more than the other

Best Buy in Rochester, MN have the 55" F8000 on display.
I didn't look at it in detail but what I saw seemed good. I'm really waiting for the 65 or 75" version so hoping that it looks as good at that size.

Correct. The way the ES series worked, you could rename any HDMI input - one of the options was PC, so you just rename the input PC. I'm still not sure if that's necessary though to be honest. What's the point in having a game mode if it's still high lag, and you need to use PC mode? And the other review said the set had a lag of around 37ms, but I don't recall them mentioning what mode they used. My guess was game mode because last year game mode was quite effective at reducing lag. So I'm having a hard time believing that game mode is useless this year and PC mode is required. There are different methods of measuring lag. I'm no expert in any of that, but I have read that some methods aren't particularly accurate, and can explain how different people get different measurements. If game mode is really as high as the AVForums review says it is, then there wouldn't even need to be a reason to have game mode in the first place.
