I thought I would start this thread to track how long everyone has had their Vizio E601-A3 since there seems to be some challenges that the owners have faced.
It would be nice to see some statistics from this board. Many of these fail with the first 90 days. I think this will be helpful for all. You can always come back and update the thread as time goes by.
Please indicate the following in your reply.
1) How long have you owned this unit?
2) Where you purchased?
3) Is this your first Vizio E601-A3 unit?
4) List what happened and the time frame it took since you turned on this unit?
5) Was your unit repaired or replacement?
6) Did you buy another Vizio E601-A3? Or which make & model did your replace it with?
7) What are the FIRST TWO NUMBERS OF YOUR VIZIO SERIAL NUMBER?
8) Average hours used per day?

That is a strange serial number to have most that I have seen are 1.1.3. I have not seen a 1.0.1 until your post. Please make sure to update the tracking thread with any new information. Is that original serial a 36 or 38 I cannot tell?

I assume the picture i sent showing 1.0.1 to Vizio is why support sent a repairman originally even though the tv was working perfectly at the time (except i wasn't getting 1.1.4). The tv sn was 38. One other interesting bit of info i just remembered is that Vizio sent the repairman a main circuit board and a power board even though i wasn't having any power issues. The repair guy noticed the tv powerd on fine and never switched that part out. I can only assume that vizio knew my serial number was prone to BSOD and its related to the power board. Of course a couple of weeks later i got the BSOD and Vizio decide to replace the set.
My SN is a 44. Bought it Thanksgiving 2012. Only issue I've had is the lip sync issue. Got firmware update 1.1.5 today and it seems to have fixed the sync issue so far.

2. Walmart, Charlotte, NC
3. First Vizio ever
4. Unit installed and first used on late night 11/22/2012. Have frequent lip sync issues with TWC cable top box. I get rid of that by changing channel and coming back. The system locked twice in the first 2-3 days, and I had to power cycle the TV.
5. N/A
6. N/A
7. 41

I can't say that I am particularly excited to have one of the lower serial #'s. ( Fingers crossed in North Carolina!)
Wanted to chime in and say i just got the 70" version yesterday and my SN also starts with 01 and my set was brand new from best buy. I wonder if this indicates a change in what panels are being used or something?

4. Works great as far as I can tell I do get the occasional black screen like I changed inputs when my wife gets up off her side of the couch but I think it has more to do with directv or the cable behind the couch then the tv itself as I've tried doing it on the input my blu ray player is on and can not get it to do it.
I've had my unit for one month now with no issues at all. Not even lipsync. Did get the 1.1.5 update last week. Very happy with this display.
