11 point white balance

Can anyone with a 2013/2014 m series Vizio confirm that 11 point gray scale settings are sticking? I have a E600i-B3 and the WB settings are not saved. Just wondering whether moving to a M series will fix this issue.

I had other issues with my M601-A3R. Vizio send out a tech, and they replaced the MOBO and gave me a new remote. I still had issues with pixelation. Vizio ended up replacing my TV. Last week, my "new" TV started having issues with the remote again. The remote would unsync, and it would randomly turn off.

I called Vizio Customer Service again, and asked to see if there was any possibility of me being able to get some type of credit to buy a different model TV. The answered was no. The customer service lady stated the TV I received was a refurbished one, and the one they were sending this was was "BRAND NEW." I told her, I was told my current TV replacement was "NEW." She stated according to the S/N it wasn't.

So, I've received an email stating the TV has been shipped. It should be here some time next week. I've got a 2014 M42 Vizio in my master bedroom, and I haven't had any issues with it. I'm very disappointed with this.

At least they are trying to fix the issue. Is there a Lemon Law with TV's?

I had a feeling someone was going to have a lawsuit. We will see what happens with the 4 year warranty for my "new" TV as well. I've got to call squaretrade and see if I can transfer it to the new one.

Good luck with SquareTrade. They might tell you it transfers, probably not, but when it comes time to make a claim on it don't expect them to cover it.

That lawsuit targets all TV manufacturers which marketed their LED backlit LCD TVs as "LED TVs". That would be, basically, all the TV manufacturers.

from the lawsuit:
These manufacturers may have sold their LCD televisions by improperly marketing them as being LED TVs, when in fact they were simply LCD TVs that only used LED illumination. Our law firm believes that these manufacturers’ marketing and advertising may have been intentionally misleading, and were designed to suggest to consumers that these TVs were not LCD TVs at all, but a more advanced and superior new type of TV.

This seems like a frivolous lawsuit to me. Of course all LED (backlit) TVs are LCD. Nowhere is it implied that they aren't. And they are, in fact, "more advanced and superior", to CCFL backlit LCDs.

This is a waste of time and money by people that don't even know what the hell an LCD is.

I got this upate on my 60" a few days ago too and would like to know what is different myself. It didn't affect my calibration settings.

My M70 received the 1.34.44.0090 update today as well. I don't see any obvious changes on the surface.

hey! My vizio television is having some problems. I have the Vizio m501d-a2r television. My problem is that the tv will randomly completely freeze up. Sometimes it is on startup and the TV gets stuck on the no signal screen. Other times I will be using it for 45 minutes and although it is still showing an image, the remote will not work other than to power the television off. After I power the television off, there seems to be a further problem in that it cannot be turned back on unless I unplug it and replug it in. I have reset the TV to factory defaults and the problem still persists. I have also power cycled both the TV and the remote. Thanks for the help!

Update your video card to a silent ati hd 6450 and no more stuttering. 29/59 bug probably.

That would be a massive downgrade for me. I have tri-SLI GTX cards that worked flawlessly with 23.976 from December through July/August.

Same here, sure wish there were some release notes someplace AND some way to control this. However, I can share with you that a LOT of the "smart TVs" are phoning home with a LOT of viewing information for resale . Read the TOS closely. I don't use any of the "SMART apps" and am on the verge of turning off the network connections now that I've got the functions I care about!!!!

You have to turn off network sharing. One would think this bug would have been fixed by now.

I am hoping it fixes the issue with the TV being defaulted to a power on state following a power source interruption.

Thumbs down Recent Vizio FW Updates Hide Netflix Caption Control

I lost Netflix captions on my M601D-A3R in one of the last firmware updates. Suddenly there were no captions and the caption control menu had disappeared from the Netflix video start menu.

The caption control is now accessible only after the video has started playing. You have to press the down arrow on the Vizio remote to display the video timeline. Then, below that, in tiny type, you will see the words "Audio & Subtitles". Press down arrow again to select this menu and press again to enable captions. Once set, this seems to enable captions for all video selections and so does not have to be set again.

Confusing user interface! This is completely different from Netflix apps on AppleTV, Sony Blu-Ray DVD, iPad, etc. ...
