So I just moved from the US to Norway and brought my Xbox 360 with me i.e. it is a US Xbox 360. It works perfectly fine connected to a Norway purchased TV via HDMI.

However, hunting for a new TV the ad states 50Hz. Well, what I remember is US TVs are 60Hz, in some instances 120Hz, 240Hz or 600Hz i.e. all multiples of 60hz. eek.gif

Does this matter? Especially for gaming?

I don't believe 50hz TV's exist anymore. Probably a typo.

In North America, they never existed. In UK/Europe, that is the standard. No typo.

Let me put it like this, the faster the Panel/TV, the better for gaming. Now faster doesn't always mean better picture, just less tearing in fast scenes wink.gif
But yeah, 50 Hz are normal here, your Xbox is now also running with 50 Hz smile.gif

tearing has nothing to do with how fast or slow a TV's processing is...input lag does...

In Europe it is 50hz, 100hz, 200hz.

To make it short: Hz above 60 make no difference at all...gaming is as smooth at 50Hz as is at 60Hz, because both are above the threshold where motion becomes smooth to the human visual system...higher refreshes are at display only, not source, and are artificially generated/interpolated by the TV, resulting only in less motion blur, but also interpolation artifacts and errors and increase in input lag, due to which most game modes in TVs deactivate high refresh rates anyway...

P.S. my sparks are a bit slow to fire so here goes the final verdict...all European TVs support both 50 and 60Hz input so the OP can buy any European TV, the US Xbox will work in native 60Hz on a European TV...
