I understand that it is possible to either download or buy disc images to help optimise my HDTV picture settings. Can anyone advise me on this please.

The free AVS HD709 disk which can be downloaded from AVS (use the Search feature to find it), or a commercial disk like WoW, Spears and Munsil, DVE, etc.
