Conducted a search but couldn't find anything.

Has anyone had any success with the Skype app on any Vizio VIA HDTV? Ive been able to get the app to work, but when i hooked my Logitech C920 camera up to the USB port on the TV, the video didn't work. I'm wondering if any camera will work, if the TV is compatible for a camera, or if i have to by the branded Vizio camera.

I would be very surprised if anything but Vizio's camera works. I imagine you are stuck with the TVs preloaded firmware for the Vizio specific camera.

on a sidenote, how do you like the picture quality, sound, look,etc.. of the 50 inch e-series?

Well after i used the calibrating disk that others on this forum recommended, it seemed to put out a nice picture. But due to not having a blue filter i could not calibrate the tv to the point the calibration disk advised. as of right now im really please with the outcome from when i took it out the box and turned it on. all that ambient light and smart dimming is a waste for me so i turned them off. Unless i can find a reason to have either on they will stay off, because i get a better picture with them off. but overall im pleased with what the tv has to offer for the price i got it.

I've been playing with this model and found the vibrance of the color lacking.

Would you mind sharing your settings? I attempting to do it by eyeball comparing it with an older Vizio 473XVT series. The temperature gains/offsets are what i really need.

This is what i have so far. Will be doing another cal once i get the blue filters

Picture mode: custom
Backlight: 80
Brightness: 42
Contrast: 42
Color: 48
Tint: 0
Sharpness: 9

Color Temp: Custom
Red Gain: 42
Green Gain: 51
Blue Gain: 35
Red/Green/Blue Offset: all 50

Noise Reduction: Off
MPEG NR: Off
Color Enhancement: Rich Color
Adaptive Luma: Extend
Film Mode: Auto
Smart Dimming: Off
Ambient Light Sensor: Off

These cals were done without a blue filter on a PS3 so they are not perfect and can be tweaked.

I'm sure you already realize this but for those that don't, the best you can do with a "calibration" disk is adjust your settings to be in the ballpark of rec.709 standards. True calibration requires the use of specialized software and meters. Also, each tv has different tolerances so settings might not be transferable from one tv to another with satisfactory results. Viewing environment also plays a big part in accurate picture adjustment and/or calibration.
