Did they give it to you for the
flat 1599 or did they add in the shipping JR.com would have charged? I haven't ordered it but called Amazon and a CSR submitted the form to the price matching department since they were already closed for the. She said I should hear from them tomorrow. If Amazon adds in the shipping what's the chances of another 1599 with free shipping coming around?

They did not add shipping. $1599.99. I am a Amazon Prime member so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Thanks, I'll keep my fingers crossed. The CSR just made me wonder when she asked how much JR charged for shipping, I am a prime member so hopefully they will accept it and not add in the shipping.

It's important to note though that the white balance especially is going to vary from TV to TV since no two panels are exactly the same.
Thank you for the settings, I was just about to ask you about them after your previous post. I am going to test those settings today.
And how are you liking the tv so far after having owned a plasma?

I have to say I am getting more happy with choosing this tv by the day. Yesterday I watched a movie at a friends house on his LG, a tv which I previously found to have excellent blacks and color. But after getting used to the W905, it really destroys the LG on every aspect. I also find it quite striking to see how many people use completely wrong settings on their tv's.

I also received my Disney WOW blu-ray yesterday a lot faster than expected (from amazon US to Europe), so I am going to try that one today.

I just got off the with Amazon and was given the price of 1689.99. The CSR in the Price Match Department said he had to add the 90.00 shipping JR would have charged. I've already had two forum members reply that they were not charged for shipping but would like to know has anyone else done a price match with Amazon? Is it customary for them to add in the shipping charges and I just wasn't lucky enough to get the flat 1599.99 like the other two members? I know it's still a great deal but I'm just trying to make it better.

edit: I called Amazon back and got a great CSR. This rep instantly gave me the TV for 1599.99 (no shipping). The funny thing is I could hear the first rep talking to himself while looking into the price match, one question he asked was why is JR.com selling them so cheap. I guess that's why he wanted to charge me shipping....lol

Thanks for posting this deal it made my TV search short and easy.

amazon gave me another $20.22 to make it a total of $307.77, I guess that's the same as the jr price with shipping.

What's all this talk of pricing?  Every month that goes by will see lower pricing coming out period until a bottom is neared with introduction of new models w950b.  Thread is much more interesting when talking about tv itself.

My only useful comment to this 900a thread is I received a 55w900a from sony warranty to replace 4 blink of death 46hx820.  Love it but hated the chomed plastic covered stand base.  So I removed the chromed plastic from base and even though the stamped metal painted black base looks a little rough, it fades into background and now when I watch tv, I'm not continuously noticing the shiny stand especially after being spoiled by the hx820/929 classic stands.

will the hx820/929 stand work with the w900a? I hate the w900a stand!

Why not just paint the stand matte black if it's that bothersome?

People were actually sanding their glossy stands to get it matte on these forums.

It was way way back when I first discovered this forums & I remember reading a lot of irate plasma owners not liking the bezel being glossy for their panels.

You would have to search quite a bit to find the discussions on that.

My spot will fit a 65 perfectly, I'm upgrading from a 52"

I'm Amazon Prime and had no trouble returning a UN60F6400 for DSE -- even without the box.

Can someone give me the link to the promotional hulu/Netflix/music site? I know it is in this thread somewhere but it is so large I cant seem to find it. Has it been working at all as of late?

Scratch that, I found it.

https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/43114/kw/netflix%20offer

Now I have a new problem. I think I need to get a registration code, but the directions are not clear.

~~To get the Registration Code

1.Please make sure your BRAVIA internet enabled TV is connected to your network, powered on and active.

2.Press the Home button on your remote control and navigate to the Network icon on the Xross Media Bar.

3.Scroll to Activate Enhanced Features and select by pressing enter.

4.Locate the Registration Code for your BRAVIA TV.~~

Can anyone point the blind man to where the "Activate Enhanced Features" button is?

Just picked up the w900a from Best Buy for $1789 they price matched Amazon. Went through my basic screen testing and I have no dead or stuck pixels, relieved about that. Watching hockey right now and have extremely minimal DSE during motion, I was really worried about this too and am glad it is so minimal. No vertical banding during fast motion either, I've returned 4 tv's in the past for banding issues so again relieved. The only issue is there is a really small indentation on the backside of the set, somehow. Not going to exchange it, knowing my luck the replacement will have screen issues. Overall very happy so far!

I got this one on Wed from BB with frys price match.

I have been testing a lot of things on it now and all I can say is WOW. From its packaging to watching 3D... it is amazing. I am not having any issues with the set as far as defects go. The setting are also pretty good just out of the box, I did change them on the go as I kept experimenting. I was looking at this set since August and I think it was worth the wait.

Will report back any issues if any later on, till then happy watching everybody! smile.gif

Wow, you mean you would actually remotely consider returning a set with a small dent in the back panel with a screen that is free of issues?

If you are wanting a 65 inch, then get the kdl65w850a period.  I received s 55w900a as replacement for a 46hx820 with the a 4 blinks of death.  Wished I had asked Sony warranty exchange people to pay for upgrade to the 65w850a.  Right now, am putting off decision to buy it anyhow unitl I see the kdl65w950b this spring bcause it will give the 65w850a all the attributes and more of the present 900a.

The present 65w850a is kind of a good fluke because sony gives you the triluminous in a frame stand and stand similiar to the x850a but cheapens it in other ways not having the deep black panel stuff and not the 240 as the 900a.   The triluminous is the key and to get that in the 65 inch is a deal at the price.  But again, if willing to spend a little more, wait for the 65w950b

Love the 55w900a by the way except the stand sucks. The brightness and the reds, blues, aquas are incredible thanks to triluminous.  Was really considering picking up a 65hx950 from onecall at the present deeply discounted price but after experiencing the new sony technology in triluminous and increase in brighness, I'll give up the beautiful gorilla glass.

From your remote press SEN and click the Amazon Video apps and follow the steps or instruction provided to get your Bravia registration code. Im having a hardtime understanding that either until i call a Sony rep and show me the way..
