Just got back from the store with the the 65LM6200 LG LED TV I'm thinking of getting and thought I'd update this thread/title. It has 996 hrs service time. It was at a Best Buy in Canada that was mistakenly shipped there. In Canada, Future Shop has exclusive rights to sell this model. Its currently on sale for $2199.99 at Future Shop, marked down from $2499.99.
Best Buy has been trying to get rid of it since November when they inadvertently received it. The sales guy said I can have it for $1750 with a free 4yr extended warranty ( $300 - $400 value ) and they waive the $29 environmental fee imposed on all TVs in Canada.
I would think that they would have to provide some form of non-OEM warranty since they're not authorized dealers in Canada.
Anyway, I told him I'll return tomorrow with a video on USB drive I downloaded that's designed to make it easier to see defects. Ultimately, I still have the option of returning it if I wanted to.
So what do you guys think ? Go for this, or spend an extra $450 + $29 TV tax, for one sealed in a box.
