Wow, you guys were right about turning down the backlight to lessen the clouding effect. I went from 0 to -6. I can still see the clouding if I look, but it's just dim enough that it no longer bothers me when switching channels in a dark room.

Once you are in game mode, I think all those options are switched off (ie, you have the lowest lag, least processing available).

Just to be sure, make sure you turn off Motion Enhancement.

Finally received the 70EQ series tv today. It was brand new, again, so that made me very happy. Screen looks great and I have to say I'm pretty happy. Sharp might have taken their time with my case but in the end they made it right in my eyes.

Still want to say the 70LE650U was a great tv. I would've been happy with it for years if the white dot issue didn't happen. Hopefully (knocking on wood) this new tv will be problem free.

Should I turn off digital noise reduction too?
What about monochrome and active contrast?

I would turn them all off, but I cannot say I know for sure which impact response time.

You should turn off all of those too - not necessarily because they effect input lag (which they don't), but simply for better image consistency without brightness fluctuation, etc...

Read all the posts and I still can't figure out if there is a way to really surf the net. I am trying to be able to get watch espn directly on the tv since I watch this frequently. I can get to their page but I am unable to get it to run. The button to push for logging in never activates. Can I use any other browser other than what is on the tv from the factory? Thanks

web browsing is VERY limited, and most (all?) streaming is not supported that way.

i recommend getting a third party solution (check what works before buying, i don't watch espn) like appleTV, roku, or chromecast. Will cost you $30 to $99 and give you much more reliable results.

I would recommend Amazon fire tv. Its alot better than smart central and has the watch espn app. You can also configure xbmc for live tv.

I currently have an LC-60E88UN, and was considering upgrading to this 70". Would that be a noticeable upgrade?

In terms of size alone, jumping from 60" to 70" is indeed a big difference (at least in my experience). That screen size does change the viewing experience and it's more immersive. Otherwise, I am not sure how good the 880UN is in terms of picture quality, but the 650U PQ is very good, so I don't think you can go wrong...

Ok - I need some help. I have had the 60" inch version for five days and these are my issues.

1. The audio lag. sometimes the channels are way way off on the audio sync. I can not find any setting that fixes it. It seems random because it will be there but if I change channels and come back it may be gone. Other times there is no audio at all unless I change the channel back and forth.

2. Wi-fi is not working. It worked initially and now it won't connect at all. It see's my network (5ghz and 2.4ghz) but won't manually connect or auto connect via WPS button. Pretty simple to enter a password ... just won't connect at all.

3. I have tried so many settings and basically have created a hybrid version of recommended settings under energystar mode so that i get more brightness than what Movie mode offers (and what this forum seems to like). Sports look awesome but news channels and tv shows seem kind of fuzzy sometimes. Hard to explain but compared to my 46" Samsung ES7100; the Sharp is not close to the precision of clarity and sharpness. Maybe the smaller screen just makes things look crisper. My DirectTV menu is so much crisper on the Samsung.

Would love some input/ideas before I return it to Best Buy. Sharp told me to return it but I don't think a new unit will be any different. I want to love this tv and keep it because it has potential ... help me out :--)

I purchased this set from a local dealer. Aside from the blacks, it's a great set.
