I waited too long and now my KDS-55A2000 has the tinge issue. I contacted Sony and I'm well past their class action suit time frame. As a "goodwill gesture" they are offering me the KDL-55HX750 for $945 + tax. That is a decent amount off their current sale price on their site and the $1500 they are on Amazon. I had been looking at 55" TVs in the $1000-$1200 price range and didn't know if the Sony was worth it. I may as well get 3D since I buy a TV every 8 years. I don't care about apps or networking as I have TiVos. I just was a nice display that will last a while.

The other set I was looking at was the Samsung UN55EH6070F bundle, it is $1100 at Costco, comes with a 3D player and glasses. I don't think the Sony even comes with glasses. Plus Costco!

Or is there something else I should look at in that range?

Thanks for any input!

Seems like a decent deal. The Sony HX750 is a great set, the HX850 is a little better in my opinion, perhaps you could try to haggle and see if they'd reduce a different TV. The HX750 is most likely the best option you have, no way that mid-tier Samsung compares.

Plus, if you buy Samsung, you don't have Sony Listens!

I saw a few reviews about the HX850, but that does not appear to be available any longer....at least not on Sony's store.

What is better about the Sony? Just a better product? Premium parts? The only real difference I see is more inputs and 240Hz.
