Hey guy`s ,

Here is the deal :

You turn the F8000 on , it automatically signs you in to there severs.

After you are logged in , you will get that message that will disappear on it`s own , but come back each and every time the F800 is turned on and you are logged into there {Samsung`s } severs.

If you set the F8000 to " don`t log in automatically or don`t log in at all , there is no way the severs can tell , and therefor will NOT get the message , however doing so you will lose some of the tv`s functionality. IE. Apps might not work , Smart Hub may act erratic , you won`t be able to use voice commands , etc.

What will happen will happen , on or about April 1st the F8000`s will get nuked , mine has been hit several times by electron bombs.

Usually , apps are misplaced or gone , most apps will require you to sign in , chit like that.

My advice , have a laptop or notebook !! charged , and be ready.

You might NOT have to go through all of that , it is just a possibility , better ready than sorry

Chill guy`s , either way , it will still be a 2 year old tv , and by todays standards , that is like 6~7 years old.

O__ if apps are missing , wait awhile before trying to download them again , as Samsung`s severs will be very busy with nervous people trying that same thing you might be doing , so have breakfast , run a few laps , and by then things will have calmed down enough so you can re-download all your apps.

Heaven help the uninformed !!

Later , OO- I hope I have helped

I see the changelog for the current version posted (1206.3) which is great, but is there anywhere that has a full changelog? I was on a version from a year ago and upgraded yesterday to 1206.3. Just wanted to see if a full list exists somewhere. Thanks!

Hi ,

Please see above ^^^^^^ post for more info.

Right now , today , it does not matter what software version you have , in 12 days your F8000 will be changed.

IF it is connected to the internet , if not , my money is on the F8000 finding a way to update wirelessly , whether you want it to or not.

Have you read "The Singularity Is Near" by Ray Kurzweil ?

Brilliant scientist and theoretical author and musician ( the Kurzweil synth / he made it as well as over 35 other electronic devices ) , and Google advisor.

This is not science fiction !

I will not provoke a war of theories , just provide the facts as I know them !!

O__ your F8000 will continue to work as it does today , until it breaks

The local dimming appears to be a lot less aggressive the last couple updates. I was watching an episode of Louie that I had seen before and the really dark scenes don't get as black as I remember. There was still a distinct glow from the screen where there was almost nothing on screen which in the past I remember the F8000 getting nearly pitch black 0 nit in some parts of the screen in scenes. Anyone else notice a difference in the local dimming?

It might just be showing it`s age !

I don`t believe a firmware change would cause such an anomaly.

Does anyone know if there has been a definitive fix for the PS3 screen tearing problem on these sets?

I use my PS3 almost every day and I don't think I have had the screen tearing problem since I got the set, but I have had it for almost a year.

Anyway, I notice it now a lot no matter what I do.

I am thinking of just resetting the TV to factory defaults and seeing if that makes a difference.

Anyone?

OK---____ I thought it would be fairly hard to stump me , BUT , what is "screen tearing" ?

I have a 46" F8000 and a PS3 and use the two a lot , like, a lot ~ a lot ...

If you want you race and have Rivals or Most Wanted , just send Tappertoo an invite !

I don`t have any problems playing any of my games. ( period ) + LOL

So , please educate me , what is screen tearing ! Thank you

Thanks,

I found a setting in the F8000 menu that lets me pick screen size and picked screen fit instead of 16:9 and it *seems* to have fixed my problem. I hope so because I do like the TV quite a bit. And I LOVE my ps3 even more than the PS4. In fact I am off to play some Hot shots golf. Lata!

As for educating you screen tearing is, at least in this case, when you have a area in the screen where the image is malformed or torn. just looks like a thick line through the screen horizontally.

O___ ok , now I understand not the exact aspect ratio for the source material being feed to the tv ! got it !! thanks

I have always had my F8000 set to 16 X 9 , some say screen fit is better , but so far my settings seem to work just fine.

Take care

They are still connected to their servers in standby. My wife and I were in the living room and she asked if the TV was on cause the red led was not on. It took a minute or so and I heard a click and the led was blinking. I do not have auto update on either.
Got to love big brother even in Korea. This is my experience and I believe they are connected at all times.

By the way is anyone interested in a 55" F8000 us02 with a4 year SQ warrantyto trade for say a 55"vt60 or Sammy 60 e7000/8000 plasma. I'm in the Pittsburgh area.

FYI :

This is scary

The service message no longer pops up , and there is no info in reference to it.

That can mean only one thing , our F8000`s will be hit very soon. Samsung is lulling us into a false sense of security , by not having there severs send any messages.

This is a preemptive move , DO NOT FALL FOR IT , still be prepared for April 1st or somewhere around that date.

Have notebooks charged , be ready to reset your apps for your providers ( VUDU , NetFlix , AIV , etc. )

You got to love Samsung

Later

O_____ and have a nice day !!

Judging by the lack of response to this post, I guess that I'm the only one that uses this app with their F8000. I'm posting again though because my Galaxy S5 just received an update to the Smart View 1.0 app a few minutes ago... I'm going to try it as soon as I get home this afternoon to see if it fixes this issue . . .

After further testing this does indeed seem to fix the problem for me.
Oddly, I used the TV for quite a while and didn't have this problem. Just thought I would post back because I have read that some people still have the issue even after making this change.

Hi ,

I have the Galaxy Note 2014 SpEd , and sometimes I use it.

It was cool at first , but it is so unnecessarily redundant , unless you are using it for presentation purposes.

Fun to start , then boring !! , using the tablet as a game controller , well it just does not work for me

I don't do games at all. I use the Smart View app to wirelessly mirror whatever video/audio is on my 65F8000 screen to my phone. Comes in useful when you have to leave the room for a while . . .

Yup !!

In that case it would come in handy !

Sometimes , I will use the remote control apps for my C-Box / or Oppo , but not all that much.

Lately it has gotten more use as a camera !

Still my very old 3.2 MP Sony , still takes good pic`s.

Just seems handier to use the Galaxy , if I like the pic and want to view on my F8K , then I can either use DropBox or save to a dedicated USB Flash-D that is 99.9 % hooked to my tv , via use of a usb to go cable.

Tablets are fun , but not like a computer.

Like toy versus tool !!

Hi ,

For about the last month Samsung`s severs have been sending a "Service Notice" in reference to the discontinuation of "Signature App`s & Services " , like the Kid`s app and the Fitness app.

I make a pretty good sport of it , but it really is no big deal.

The very worst that might happen is that you nay have to reinstall or re-login some of your app like AIV / You Tube / VUDU , etc.

It says April 1st ( no joke ) , but it may not happen exactly on that date , but if it does just have a laptop charged up to enter the codes to get back into your apps IF they get messed up , and they may not.

So far from out of the blue , I have been hit 3 times now , and have had apps disappear and the whole apps pane would be rearranged , that happens quite a it.

Samsung has more control over the connected tv`s than people think , if you get logged in , then your a target , if your not logged in then you lose functionality.

EIther way , it will be a pain if it goes south , but just time consuming to get it back the way you had it.

MVK movies on UN65F8000

Just curious if anyone else has a HTPC connected to theirs and if so, what TV settings on the F8000 and what PC/video player settings are you using? I'm getting some image ghosting on some different MKV files(John Wick, Star Trek I.D.) havent gone through every one yet. I'm currently using MPC with MadVR renderer. Not sure what the best settings are with this combo or if there is a better. And not VLC, it a good all around multi file player, but I'm looking for the best picture and sound quality(7.1) that I can get from 1080P MKV files. Any help would be appreciated. Hope this was the right place to post.

Thanks
