Hi Shawn1368, press the MENU button, select setup, then select GENERAL. Game Mode will be on the top and you can turn it ON/OFF.

JChin,

How would I delete the history of things typed for example the web browser if you hit one letter all terms that have been searched with that letter will appear. I have many childish friends who have typed things I would rather not see when using my television.

Hi lolfac3, try this ... while in the web browser look at top right corner, click Setting -> Web Browser Setting -> General.

I have tried those options but they made no impact on what shows up from the keyboard predictive text.

Got the replacement model. MUCH better. Still some clouding but not near as bad. I can get used to it, afterall input lag came first with this size.

Few questions: How the hell do you turn Microdimming on? Is there an option or is it automatic?

Next one: Every time I turn the TV on the icon that you see when you use voice control (The microphone surrounded by a rainbow circle) flashes in the left hand corner of the screen for a moment. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!

Just wondering if I got yet another defective model.

I have a brand new Samsung UN55F7100 and Yamaha 575 receiver. I have connected the TV to the receiver using the HDMI/ARC connection and have been experiencing periodic audio dropouts.  I have read that the use of the ARC connections is kinda of hit and miss.  Anyone have any luck using the ARC for this Samsung model. I have ordered a digital optical audio cable just in case to send the audio from the Samsung to the Yamaha. I appreciate any insights. Thanks.

Change your sound output from DTS 2.1 or something to the other option (or vice versa). Also make sure you are only using external speakers.

That should fix it

hey all!

I recently bought the UN60F7100A model and it looks great. There is only ONE issue that I currently notice. Every couple of hours the screen flashes very quickly (almost lightning like) with white vertical bars!  Has anyone had this issue before?  If so what do i do? Is it defective?   I currently only notice it on source 3 the DVI one well because I have it hooked DVi to HDMI from my desktop to TV.  The cord is pretty new. I have never seen those markings on my LED desktop screen so i know it is either the TV or maybe the cord but I have used this cord on my old Sony Bravia LCD and never saw this.

any suggestion?

HI all. I got the 75 inch F7100. The biggest issue I have at this point is that the entire picture looks "washed out". Almost like there is a white haze over the entire screen. There are times when it looks ok, but overall not happy with the picture. I've played with the settings a little bit (turned off auto motion, etc), but I'm not sure what would be causing this. Is this the clouding that has been mentioned in this thread?

I get that a picture won't be perfect and needs tweaking (and perhaps a professional calibration at some point), but this is awful and very distracting.

I am using Movie mode and just changed the basic settings around a little bit. But nothing seems to be correcting this "white haze" issue.

Any ideas? Do I need to replace it? Hopefully someone can offer some suggestions on various settings I can use to correct it. Maybe I missed something.

Thanks.

now it seems to vary, and some sources better than others. I ordered a couple do-it-yourself calibration Blu-Rays and we'll see what I can do with those (WOW and Spears & Munsil). Hoping that will help. If that makes it look "good", I'll ride it out a bit and then get it professional calibrated. Just worried about waiting too long if it really is a TV defect.

I am trying to decide between a couple tvs and wondered if I could get your help. I am looking at the 60f7100 vs the 55w900a from sony. I know that the sony is a lot higher price and more features, but what I'm wondering is if it is THAT much better than the 7100. I would much rather have a 60 inch if it's a good tv. They are pretty much the same price. Let me know what your thoughts are one the 7100. After reading this thread, it seems to be a lot of problems with it. Thank you!

Thanks. I have changed my Yamaha setting  to AV1 and use the 7 channel surround mode and I have not had the problems with the ARC on the Samsung that I had previously.

I am looking at getting a new TV. I have narrowed down my choices to two Tv's
Samsung's UN46F7100AFXZA http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+46%2522+Class+%252845-9%255C%252F10%2522+Diag.%2529+-+LED+-+1080p+-+240Hz+-+Smart+-+3D+-+HDTV/8065043.p?skuId=8065043&productCategoryId=abcat0101001&id=1218863885643

Samsung's UN46F7500AFXZA http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+46%2522+Class+%252845-9%255C%252F10%2522+Diag.%2529+-+LED+-+1080p+-+240Hz+-+Smart+-+3D+-+HDTV/8064044.p?skuId=8064044&productCategoryId=abcat0101000&id=1218863890704

The only difference I can see is the 7500 series has a quad core processor compared to the dual core processor of the 7100 series and the 7500 series has a clear motion rate of 960 compared to the 7100 series clear motion rate of 720.
Im not sure if the extra money is worth the differences and will I notice any difference. We mainly just watch network tv and HBO.

Thank you for any insight you guys may have.

Ken

Just got my UN65F7100. While setting up I went into apps and attempted to get my Netflix up and going. I did not notice I was signing up for a new account until it displayed the payment page. Now I can't figure out a way to cancel that and go to the screen that shows I already have an existing account. Does anyone know how to get out of that screen and start over? I've already done am factory reset with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Had this TV for about 3 days. Clouding and flashing light for ME was too much. But I only paid 2K for it so I should've known. A great TV if you are not too concerned with flash lighting and clouding. I now have my eye on the vizio reference TV. Looks pretty promising.

My experience has been the total opposite. I have no flash lighting no clouding and no motion issues. I also have no issues with angle of view but my side viewing angles are not that extreme (3 feet from screen, maybe) so take that with a grain of salt. I find the blacks to be deep and the colors vibrant. It's nothing more than my opinion but while I do believe that there are a small percentagge of true defects and/or bugs with some sets, I also believe half of the remaining complaints are from a combination of the nit picky (either in general or in relative terms based on their previous experiences with plasma). And I believe the other half simply aren't allowing sufficient time for their sets to accclimate to their viewing environment before turning it on or are simply too aggressive with making adjustments to their picture settings too soon. Again, it's only my opinion but it's been nothing short of phenomenal for me.

BTW, I like to inform others with more specific detail on such a topic because I find that the set itself and its viewing environment matters in terms of relevant experiences of others. I have the 65 inch and it is located in a dedicated theater room with controlled lighting. So I am not competing with window or door light, kitchen light or people walking in front of the screen every 20 minutes. Therefore, the settings on my set are conducive to such an environment and likely a big reason why I have had the performance experience that I have had. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, I've had the set since Dec 23rd.

I am very happy with my choice to purchase the F7100. The flash lighting and are not an issue if once you change the default picture settings from the factory defaults. I'm pretty sure that you will find complaint under ever different TV thread on this forum. The picture quality on this tv is very clear and near perfect while playing a blue ray.

was looking into getting the 65inch 7100. after seeing it at pauls tv on display i was not very impressed, the 8000 looks SO MUCH BETTER that i couldnt justify pulling the trigger on it. i adjusted settings in the store but couldnt get it to look anywhere near as clear as the 8000. now thinking about the sharp 857, but the 70 right now costs too much the 60 is priced great at 1499 sale for this week, but i want to upgrade size and picture over my current 60. what a dilehma lol

I am happy with the picture quality as well. I have an intermittent movement problem of the picture (for which service is coming for tomorrow.) it happens very rarely. I attached a video of the problem on a posting here a few weeks ago. It hasn't happened since. When it plays, it plays beautifully.

Where I bought mine they were side by side and very little difference but your right I went to a different dealer and looked and there was a big difference. The place where they looked close was at a high end place where I think they actually set them

Me too! Picture is great ! How do you control your set top box and audio receiver ?
Thanks,

I'm not saying that the picture on the 7100 is better when they are side by side but what I'm saying there isn't a lot of difference and after having it now for a week I love it just need to figure out how to operate the other devices if possible from the samsung remote ??
