Just bought this TV (my ES was stolen), and wanted to know if anyone has any recommended settings. Been playing with them and I am not quite satisfied.
Thanks!

Hi.

How do you like this TV so far? I'm planning to pick up a UN60F7100 this weekend.

Love the TV. I used the same settings that I was using on the ES7100 and the picture awesome. I think it's even better than my ES, and I was quite satisfied with that one.

That sounds great.

I was originally going to go for the UN60F6400, but then I saw the F7100 in person. The picture looked quite a bit better to me. It is a little above my budget, but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

I assume the 7100 series tv's are just coming out? I'm a little puzzled by the lack of activity on this thread. I guess I will have to be patient.

I have seen a couple of reviews that compare the 7100 and 7500 series Samsungs favorably to the 8000 series, so I was curious about owner experiences. I want a good picture, but am less interested in the built-in camera and other bells and whistles that I don't think I would use.

Greetings all,

Just bought this for my main floor TV (have a 65" Panny VT30 for the home theatre room). Looking for a good all around calibration setting to use. Thus far I've ended up with:

Movie
Backlight 12
Contrast 80
Brightness 46
Sharp 5
Color 45
Tint G51/R49

I'm thinking of ordering the UN55F7100 literally any minute now, but the fact that it's so new and there are so few reviews is the only thing holding me back.

All I've been able to track down so far is this small thread and 6 reviews on Best Buy's site (all 6 of which rate it 5/5... so far so good!).

So, anyone else get this TV recently? If so... please let us know what you think!

Thanks.

I see this television is in the Bestbuy circular for the dates April 28, 2013 - May 4, 2013. The 55" has a price of $1799 and the 60" has a price of $1999.

Good call, glad I waited an extra day. Just ordered it now... it will be here Thursday!

Also, not sure if I'm allowed to talk about this stuff here, but I ordered from Amazon through another seller that sells through Amazon and doesn't charge sales tax. So for me, the TV is $450-$500 cheaper than it would have been if I ordered a couple of days ago. Perfect timing. smile.gif

Hopefully you chose a seller that fulfills through Amazon just in case there are any problems with it. Amazon return policy is hard to beat. Now I have to decide between a Samsung 55F7100 and a LG 55LA7400. Due to an eye problem I cannot see 3D anyway, But just want to buy the best television.

Oh definitely, if it's not fulfilled by Amazon I don't buy it. smile.gif

I don't know anything about the LG, but I'll let you know what I think of the 7100 as soon as I get it.

Is there forced microdimming on the F7100 like the ES7100, or can it be disabled? I know the F6300 does not have microdimming at all.

The only difference I can see between the F7100 and the F6400 is the CMR (clear motion rate) at 720 and 480, respectively. So what practical difference would this make, and when do most of you turn Clear Motion off anyway? TIA.

In addition to the CMR, there are also differences with the color and I think material used for the stand and bezel between the 7100 and 6400 (7100 bezel is also slightly thinner than 6400). 7100 just looks prettier to me.

Also, 7100 comes with 4 pairs of 3D glasses vs 2 with the 6400, and is also listed with having "Ultra Clear Panel" while the 6400 isn't. According to Samsung this is "Screen technology that brightens colors, enhances contrast, and reduces reflection for optimal TV viewing."

The 7100 gives you two extra 3D glasses and stands are a little different. The 7100 is all silver finish while the 6400 is a darker finish. I hate the Samsung chicken feet stands.

Just want to thank this thread for alerting me to the price drop. Purchased the UN60F7100 through Amazon 10 days ago and they refunded $400 via the price match guarantee. That is nice chunk of change. biggrin.gif

I am a really just trying different settings on the TV I find on this forum. Currently using the Ticmxman2 one from the ES7100 thread (http://www.avsforum.com/t/1414638/official-samsung-unxxes7100-thread/630).

Its good but think it could be better. But I love the TV. Had a 46" 240Mhz Samsung from about 4 years ago and went with a 120Mhz Samsung from Costco about a month ago. Had it about 2 days before packing it up and bringing back to Costco. Saw the F7100 in Best Buy and loved it as well as the F8000 but the F8000 was a little too pricey. Ordered the F7100 and love it so far.

Looking forward to reading what you guys think about this set.
I was thinking about it or the 70" Sony r550a.
Anyone have any experience on how they compare?

Saw this at bestbuy and it looks really nice. It's definitely stand out in the sea of black bezel.

Also the TS, you should have more information about the set on your first post and even some pictures included if you want this to be the official thread.

I am still trying to decide between the un60F7500 and the un60F7100. Best Buy's near me (long island NY) don't have the 7500's yet. The 60 inch F7100 that best buy has on display has a thicker bezel than the 65 inch F7100 and 55 inch F7100. Noticeably thicker. Picture looked excelent on the 65 inch F7100, not so great on the 60 inch.

Hi all,

I am currently considering a few TV's and was hoping you folks could offer some feedback. I will use the tv for 50% pc gaming,25% sports (hockey and Football)25% moives/tv shows.

Is this tv good for gaming? How is this tv for input lag? Do you get any movement blur? Anyone use the Nvida 3dtv with it?
I have done some research and I have it narrowed down to the 3 below. Any other thoughts on my choices are welcome.

1. Samsung f7100
2. Sharp LC70LE857
3. Sharp LC80LE844

Sam's club has just received this set but their model number is un65f7050 compared to other dealers who have the un65f7100. I downloaded the specs for both of these sets from the samsung web site and the only difference that I see is that the one from Sam's includes a wireless keyboard. Does anyone know of any other differences?

Thanks

I never *ever* buy extended warranties, but on the other hand, I've never paid anywhere near this much for a TV before.

Is an extended warranty worth it in this case?

I just purchased this set for my master bedroom. The picture looks pretty good out to the box. I would appreciate if anyone who has successfully calibrated any video setting would post there new settings.
