I have a cable box, ps3, and popcorn hour on the TV. When I was installing the TV it made sense to me to run HDMI cables (my old tv was component only) to the tv from all three devices and then run one optical out to my receiver.....less cords and less mess but as I am reading this morning I think that based on this setup I am only getting stereo sound, is that correct?

I am assuming your receiver has no HDMI inputs/outputs like mine?

I am no expert, but as liong as the source (digital audio) is HDMI into the TV then optical audio out to your receiver then it should still be digital audio. I don't think the tv would down convert it to stereo.

It does but I didn't see a need to use them. I think what I am reading is that the "rules" don't allow for tvs to pass anything other than a 2 channel audio from anything other than the tuner.

If your receiver does have HDMI inputs, I would accept nothing less than routing everything through the receiver (It's intended purpose) and let it handle all switching and codecs. You get a much cleaner and simpler installation to boot. As well as the use of the ARC function if your receiver supports it, eliminating the optical cable for good.

What's the best firmware for a 6350? I have 1116, the website has 1117, but my tv wants to give me 1118.

Is there any reason I would want to upgrade from what I have? Or is this a case of, "if it's not broke, don't mess with it"?

As soon as I got my TV i went from 1116 to 1118 , I have nothing to compare but I don't see any un stability issue (Smart hub apps), the only issue irritates me is HDMI ARC audio drop out issue on Netflix

Yes they did, but I can't get them to accept my serial number for some reason.
Says it's not valid for my model., UN75F6300, when it's clearly listed as a valid model.

I have accepted the fact that my 75F6300 has some uniformity issues...Over the last month or so I have researched LED TV's a lot and it appears its just an issue with the technology and not just the "samsung"..

I also stumbled onto a pretty cool site that allows you to compare TV's ... shows you ratings for the samsung and also has some other cool stuff on it

http://www.rtings.com/

I cant afford the sammy 8000 series at least not in a 75 inch model so im stuck with and for the most part happy with the 6300 series.....

Now when OLED's become affordable than...well

For those interested in the Samsung app promo, I just received a follow up email asking me to upload my receipt. The upload receipt option was not available when I originally applied and, although I sent them an email saying that I had a photo of my receipt, I had all but given up. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I am also going through this thought process with my UN75F6300 since I am in my 30 day return period. I do have a bit of clouding on the left side upper and lower quadrants but the screen has to be uniformly dark to notice it. I can't see it in 99.9% of dark scenes in movies/tv shows.

The only other think that bugs me is I seem to have one bad pixel. It show up as a red dot near the middle of the screen and a bit to the right. However, it's only there randomly and not that often (mostly when that area is black/gray). Should this be a concern/reason to return?

I researched several televisions and eventually bought a samsung 65f8500. Picture was stunning, deep blacks etc......After 10 days the tv died, and although I could have exchanged it for a new one, I opted to go for the 75"6300. Although the picture is not on par with the plasma, I find it more than adequate for 95% of my viewing needs.

I have the same clouding issues as everyone else but have decided the extra 10 inches of real estate and the fact that the 6300 was $700 dollars cheaper than the plasma a no brainer.

The wife and I had several friends over this past weekend to watch the fights and everyone's jaw dropped at the size, thin bezel,PQ. No one mentioned cloudiness, uniformity etc.

I've come to realize, for me anyway, if your going to pixel peep, your going to find issues........with any television.

Just my 2 cents

Completely agree.

I was actually one of those people who was crazy and anal enough to repack the 75inch tv, re-rent an uhaul, and exchange the tv because of the clouding I initially noted on the few scenes...

Having had the tv for over a month now, I must say the PQ is great and the size of the tv is just mind blowing ( I had 52" before). Again, if I had $6000 laying around then I would still purchase 75 inch F8000 but I think I would rather spend that kind of money elsewhere for right now.

Overall I am happy with my purchase and I am definitely enjoying watching all the sports and movies on this tv. I've totally become a couch potato.

My 65 6300 in the living room just didn't have the same PQ in several aspects of my 2y old 55 6300 I moved to our bedroom (sold a 6y old Sony LCD that was in there).
In the same house, the difference between the Samsungs was always noticeable (both calibrated and tweaked).
And having a Kuro in the finished basement didn't help. Older, still stunning and referenced as our standard.

Returned the 65 6300 and waiting for delivery of a 65 Sony W850A $1999 boxing day.

One of my friend's has an 80" Sharp and he's happy with the biggest affordable LED he can buy. UFC on his TV is nothing like my sets.

I frequent a buying forum, I think we all tend to justify our purchases, but as long as we're happy, that's all that matters regardless of the set we buy.

Bought a UN65F6300 for $1200 as an open box tv. Someone had returned it because it has what appears to be a stuck pixel, it's green and you only really notice it when the tv is all black, around here the tv normally sells for $1800 so I tell me kids it's an $600 pixel smile.gif Is there anyway to fix this? Any chance it will fix itself?
