UN55F6300 here. Couldnt find the specs I needed from Samsung.
Can this unit display 0-255 or only 16-235? I have heard things like renaming input to PC etc or something to activate 0-255 full RGB. Can someone walk me through it please?

I have the cable tv and HTPC running through the Denon receiver, so only 1 HDMI running to the TV, using 1 input.

Thanks.

note: the post above is my opinion. as such, when reading any recommendations from me, please do you research and seek out other recommendations and make up your own mind on your next course of action. i mean, most reasonable adults should know that, but it seems this should be stated anyways.

It can display both. In picture settings HDMI black level "low" is the video spec 16-235 and "normal" is the pc levels. The setting is not tied to the input being named PC. I have mine set to "low" with the input named PC for the PS3 to use. PS3 needs to correspondingly be set for "limited" to show the correct picture.

great thanks. will know what to play with. i was guessing it might have been color space of native vs auto, but that didnt seem right to do much.

Anyone know anything about the 6360 Series TV on the Samsung website? Is that just one that Costco or some other chain sells?

As far as I can tell, nothing changed. Hopefully someone will chime in with a list of fixes. ( Where do they find these?)

I posted the same on August 9th. It has been sporadic whether or not I get 5.1 versus stereo. I can only assume it is a download speed "negotiation" between netflix server and unit, with all the steps in between.

Could be. If you have not done so already, check your Netflix settings to make sure that playback quality is set to 'High'. The default is 'Auto' which does not prioritize quality. Of course, 5.1 availability also varies depending on the content.

Please remind me where this setting is. The Netflix menu doesn't have any playback quality settings.

Thanks. I will monitor and see if that fixes the issue, at least when I know the source content is 5.1.

Looking for larger screen LED

Pardon my laziness for not wanting to read all the posts in this thread. I am looking to get a larger screen than my current 42" Samsung. Is this model a good buy in 60" or 65"?

Thanks in advance

I would say 65" because with all Samsung 60" you're almost guaranteed to have a Sharp panel instead of a Samsung.

Thanks. I've been reading about Samsungs having power issues and the manufacturer not addressing the problem or not covering the issue under warranty. Any truth to this?

Looking for advice.. my panel is starting to show a blue vertical line on the right hand side of the screen when viewing Netflix and also via DVDs. I am going to submit a warranty request (still covered under Samsung) but I also bought Square Trade. Should I submit via Samsung or SquareTrade? Does it even matter?

Thanks!

If still under Samsung warranty, then call them. Certainly looks like a panel / controller defect

I have the same setup as ThomasReich and am having the same issue with Netflix not outputing (or even giving the option for) 5.1 Dolby digital.

I know it is not my internet connection as I can stream Netflix with my blu-ray player in 5.1 with no issues for the exact same movie. I can also output Dolby digial 5.1 from broadcast TV with no issues so it has to be the Netflix app.

Any suggestions on what to do (or who to complain to!) ?

Yes, I am firmly convinced it is the app. I tried the Netflix High Qual setting, but still shows that I know are in DD5.1 come through in stereo. For most cases, it isn't worth fussing over, but when I want the 5.1, I watch through the TiVo.

Have had the 55" model, since Nov. of 2013, so far very happy with it. The screen can be a pain in the ass as it flickers on dark scenes, from what I read that is dependent on the backlight setting, Samsung should find a fix for that. I thought initially there was a problem with the picture quality as the amount of grain on blu-rays was very noticeable, however after doing some reading it varied depending on the movie quality. The one thing I will never understand is why is Samsung's internet-based functions of the tv tied to their server? When the Samsung site is down, none of the Smart apps work. I also have the 46" version, very happy with that as well, and both sets are lightweight for their size.

I have had the 5.1 problem since the last firmware update as well..My Netflix settings are set to high with no change..Fortunately my Chromecast works very well in this regard.
