I purchased this remote from ebay. Works perfectly on the F6400 (I too was upset about the 1 Smart Remote)

BN59-01054A

Ebay has 2 different kinds. One that is flat and the backlight lights up the whole remote, and one that has physical buttons. I wanted the full backlit one, but the one with the buttons is cheaper and still has backlight (just not on the arrow keys)

EDIT: Can also look here, though this is not how I found mine (I researched model numbers) http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=BN59-01054A&LH_BIN=1&_sop=15&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR3.TRC1.A0.H0.Xf6400+remote&_nkw=f6400+remote&_sacat=0

Well it seems after a few months, Samsung finally went back to their old ways. Added a method to update via usb, which also means changelogs:

Is this series also plagued by the Samsung panel lottery fiasco?
Or are all panels made by Samsung?

Where exactly do you see change logs? All I see at those links are the firmware update file (via USB) and a PDF showing you HOW to update via USB and via the automatic update. I don't see any change logs showing what's been changed in the V. 1200 revision. What am I missing?

Is anyone else having trouble with a washed out picture on the PS4? I can't find the right combination of settings, though I would prefer to avoid any artificial things like dynamic contrast.

What browser are you using? Did you click the update link itself? It rolls out to show:

This firmware is for TV Model(s): LED F5500/F6300/F6350/F6400/F6800/F7050/F7100/F7150, PDP F5500
The version is 1122.2
This firmware update will improve the following:

- Solves Netflix loading issue

- Solves Auto Off-On Issue

- Solves the issue Smart Control does not work.

- Solves Network Connection Issue with Wireless Router.

- Improves Picture Quality.

- Solves the issue Screen Mirroring does not work.

- Solves the issue Digital Clean View does not work correctly.

I wonder why it says, "Upgrade file (USB Type) (Firmware)(ver.1200.0)" but then when you click on it to see the log it says , "The Version is 1122.2"? Why the 1200 and the 1122.2? Is one the USB file version and the other one the firmware revision? What is the most current firmware version? I currently have 1122 on my TV and it says there are no updates.

It must have just been a glitch. I tried updating twice yesterday (automatic method) and both times it checked and said that there was no update available. I tried it again just now and now it says that the 1200 update is available and it's downloading the update.

My bad. I was so excited that I found the links I probably should have just posted the changelog myself.

And glad you finally got the update. I always noticed shoddy WiFi performance. I wonder if I switch back to it now if it will get better, or if I should just stick with wired.

Someone posted on here a few weeks back saying that v.1200 was out. I have auto update on, so I didn't even know until I had checked here on this site.

Oh no problem. I don't know why I didn't click there to see the log. I clicked on the PDF thinking that would be the log. I guess maybe I thought clicking that was the actual file or something. I'm not sure. I've noticed poor wi-fi performance as well so hopefully this update will help with that.

What do you have to lose? You could always switch back to wi-fi and see if the update helps (leaving the cable available). If it does, great. If it doesn't, you can always just switch back to a hard wired connection.

Poor wi-fi seems to be Samsungs M.O. I wouldn't expect an improvement, they seem to pride themselves on NOT fixing it.

Yeah that's true. Just sucks you have to go back into settings and reinitiate the Network Settings. My 360 has been having weird connection issues so I was gonna run the wire from my tv to my 360, assuming the TV is fixed now.

Ha, I can somehow picture Samsung execs saying this: "Our users have poor WiFi connection. Should be fix it?" "Nah, they'll figure it out on their own"

I've had an odd issue with mine. When TV is first turned on the picture's tint level seems it's about 5-10 notches more red than my setting. When I turn my set-top box off then on again it becomes normal. It also comes to normal if I either change TV input or change the channel to another one with a different resolution (1080i-720p, etc). Once I do this I have no further issues until the next time I turn on the TV and it doesn't do it every time I turn it on. My hook up is Directv via HDMI. I changed HDMI cables and Directv box to no avail. Samsung came out and replaced the main board and then said if this doesn't fix the problem that they would then try and replace the panel.

I'm asking for those in the know on this forum their opinion on this matter.

Thanks.

Is there a way to disable or minimize the micro dimming? Just watching a movie or TV is a pain for every time a dark or black scene comes up the whole screen flickers to black then back in a very visually annoying way. It's to the point now I'm considering selling this off and getting a different television.

If you are using the built in speakers at moderately high volumes, I assume it's a simple vibration (cabinet resonance.) Can't speak for everyone, but I assume the majority here use external audio sources when viewing as do I. I have only heard the internal speakers in the store and that was enough for me.....

I can't speak about the pn51 but I've found the f6400 to be an excellent tv for movies and gaming. Watch Dogs on ps4 looks very nice

Yes there is as I did it on mine (with the initial firmware shipped with it, so I don't know if it's changed since then) as it was a visual irritant. I'll be away from the TV for some time and won't be able to point you directly to the menu/selection, so maybe someone else can chime-in

Not sure if it would help at all but there is a firmware upgrade available (1200).

I'm thinking on upgrading my Sony 40EX720 (PVA Sony/Samsung panel) to a UE46F6400, do you guys think it it is worth?

Basically I find the picture of the EX720 very washed out with no vibrant colors at all (even after calibration) maybe due to it's matte screen. The strong side of Sony is the good contrast rate of 4000+:1 whereas the F6400 would do about 3000:1 (based on digitalversus reviews). I have also read that the F6400 lacks brightness, it it true?

digitalversus reviews: www.digitalversus.com/tv-television/sony-bravia-kdl-55ex723-p10615/test.html#full-review / www.digitalversus.com/tv-television/samsung-ue46f6400-p15528/test.html#full-review

Thanks in advance

Hey guys i'm having trouble with my Wi-fi connection. It keeps dropping for some strange reason but the other devices in my room stay connected to the wifi? Does anyone know if there is a fix for this problem? Or do I need a wifi dongle?

P.S. the modem is located on the 1st floor and i'm on the 2nd but i still get a 50 mbps connection in my room so that shouldnt be the problem.
