I have a new UN65ES6500 Samsung and every time I change channels, an oversize box giving video resolution and HDMI info appears onscreen. Is there a way to turn that off?

Samsung UN65ES6500
Onkyo TX-NR809
Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S590
Boston Acoustic VR 30 Fronts
Boston Acoustic VR 20 Surrounds
Boston Acoustic VR10 Center
Energy ESW-310 Subwoofer

Would suggest surfing using the remote "MENU" button. I think you will find a display option info button/selection that will give the desired result. Have not checked out your specific TV model but if similar to others.......

BTW, there is/was a "Info" remote button that will also temporarily &/or (on with push & off with second push) display the mentioned on screen info. Might try it also.

That is the first thing I did (many times) but can not find a setting that eliminates it. If you have a more specific suggestion, I will give it a try.
