Has anyone had experience with buying "open box" LCD's from Best Buy? Any advice you might want to share? Or experiences? I'm thinking about a high ticket (over $1000) LCD in an open box config and wonder if I'm making any sort of gross mistake.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

My experience is to take with a grain of salt when the salesperson gives you background information about the item. Most HDTVs have a service menu where it's recorded the number of hours the set has been running and how many power cycles. It's worth a look. Also, if a plasma, carefully look for image retention/burn-in. If it's a floor model that ESPN runs all day, you'll possibly see the scrolling boxes on the left and the banner at the bottom of the screen. Doesn't matter if it's a floor model or a return, do your diligence and get whatever info the store will share. Then attempt to verify. Just for the record, I've experienced both good and bad. Remember, with BB TV, you normally only have 15 days to return.
