Sorry, I don't know. Skin tones look normal for me with my settings.

Maybe it's your source or you tweaked a setting...?

Sorry if I'm being really dense here, but where do I get the 2210 firmware update? I'm running ver 2004. When I check for an update via my TV, it tells me that I'm current and 2004 is the most recent version that I see on the Samsung website.

So it turns out that the answer is that I AM incredibly dense. I have a UN55ES7100. <where's the facepalm emoji?>

I guess I should probably move my power cycling question over to the correct thread too...

Hey guys..... I did the 2210 update... Man it sure messed with my back light & dynamic contrast settings. I got ramdom flickering & colors looked washed out. I did the dredded Factory Reset and re-programmed all my settings. All now is OK once again & the picture looks GREAT. I don't find any problems with Motion with my Custom setting I like so much. I do think Blacks may be slightly better that Ver 2207 provided. It's kind of early but so far, I do not regret installing this Firmware Version.

My Custom Settings do produce SOE!!! I love the effect. Alot of members on the Forum's don't. Here they are anyways..........

Blur Reduction 10

Judder Reduction 08

LED Clear Motion OFF for now but undecided. I do see some artifacts when viewing panning scenes at times due to these settings but my STB, Smart Hub Videos and both Blu-Ray players are really displaying smooth motion 99% of the time using these settings. So far at least no jerky motion has been seen yet since the update and thats a Good thing.

My F7100's network connection keeps failing during the update. Does anyone know the proper site so I can download and update via USB? I googled and all I can find is 2207 on Samsung's website.

Thanks

I've got a question but I'm unsure if this is the correct thread for it, but I couldn't find a more relevant thread. I've got a Samsung UA55F7100, am I in the right place? Does the 'N' or 'A' represent a region?

Thanks

Good glad to hear it. Ya all my stuff is hardwired never had an issue if you encounter any other issues just reset everything on your tv after noting your pic settings and start from scratch I've only had to do this once cause apps would freeze and/or not open but after the reset everything was fine other than setting everything back up but I don't have very many apps anymore now so

Question

Originally Posted by matrix123 View Post

TL;DR: Is it possible to configure my TV to report different capabilities to an Xbox One?

This might be the wrong place for my question.... but I'll start here I guess. My components are wired like this:

XboxOne ---HDMI---> UA55F7100 ---Optical---> Denon AVR-3805
and also:
XboxOne ---Optical---> Denon AVR-3805
NOTE: The Denon does not support HDMI.

When I attempt to configure the HDMI Audio output format on the Xbox to, for example '5.1 Uncompressed' or 'Bitstream out', the Xbox displays an error message saying "...there was a problem. Make sure your audio receiver supports it....". I'm assuming the TV reports it's capabilities to the Xbox via HDMI and so the only setting that works is 'Stereo Uncompressed'.

This limitation isn't an issue when I play games because I can configure the TV to use Game mode, the Xbox optical output to 'Bitstream' and I then just select a different input on the Denon and I get 5.1 fine and I don't notice any delay in audio/video.

The problem is if I turn off Game mode to watch a video or 3D movie for example. I can't use the Xbox to Denon via Optical configuration because the TV delays the video. To keep the audio and video synced, I'm forced to use the Xbox to TV via HDMI configuration which means the Denon will only receive a stereo signal which obviously sucks for a 3D movie.

Ideally, I'd want to configure the Xbox to bitstream to the TV and have the TV passthrough that bitstream to the Denon with the appropriate delay to keep the picture and audio in sync. Is this possible?

Alternatively, I could manually configure audio delay on the Denon input connected directly to the Xbox via optical but the max value is 200ms (that said, I haven't yet tested to see if that delay would be long enough).

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!
