I purchased the Samsung HW-F450 soundbar at the same time and have it running just on digital optical for the sake of being lazy and having it automatically power on/off when we are watching tv. I know I know...the audiophiles here will rant and rave about HDMI being better for audio or whatever.....I have been to a lot of concerts in my day and in all honesty I probably couldn't hear the difference. So suck it...laziness auto power on wins.

I have been messing around with passive room lighting lately and might still setup an ambilight knock off for chits and giggles.
Calibrated my TV this past weekend with a friends Spyder4 colorimeter and came up with a couple of different settings:

With the above IRE settings (saved -> Expert1):
Color Temp: Warm2
Backlight: 60
Brightness: 50
Contrast: 94
Color: 48
Tint: 39


With No changes in IRE points (saved -> Expert2):
Color Temp: Warm2
Backlight: 50
Brightness: 50
Contrast: 94
Color: 59
Tint: 49

Here's the problem it won't even give me the list of available wireless networks. Also I have no spaces in my password.

Ya...that's not a good sign at all if it isn't detecting any wifi at all. I don't know of any other way to reset the tv back to stock

I have an LG 50LN5700.

I have it streaming content from a Windows 7 computer via WiFi. Everything works great except for one problem. When browsing the shared folder on my PC from the TV, I do not see all the files and folders. It is very sporadic, hit and miss. For instance I have a folder called Masters of Sex, and I have five files in that folder. The computer can see and play all five files, but the TV only sees 3 of the 5 files.

I copied the five files to a USB drive, plugged in the USB drive to the TV and was able to see and play all five files.

Anyone had any similar issues?

I must say I so far I am not a not of a "smart tv". Might as well just use a computer, since that's all the smart tv is anyway, and not a great one at that.

I fixed it. Wasn't the TV at all. Tech issues can be so bizarre sometimes. Was just a DNLA/Windows Media Player issue.

Hi Guys

I have just purchased a 50LN5700 LG. I am based in South Africa and would like to stream Netflix but my menu does not show the Netflix Icon.....this might be due to my region. Is there a way to install the app or fool the TV into thinking its in the US? Also what 3D file formats are supported via USB as my regular downloads from Yiffy does not play in 3D.

Anyone having Netflix issues with the 55LN5700? I've had this tv for about 14 months and it's been flawless. Unfortunately, I think LG's last update in June has caused my Netflix streaming to stop working. The app loads normally, but if I select any title, it says it can't play it right now and to try again later. Anyone else experiencing the same? I have several other streaming options and Netflix works fine, so the problem is with the TV. Obviously I don't need to use the app on the tv with other streaming devices, but it still bothers me that this latest firmware is the cause.

Honestly, I've given up on the TV apps. The "smart features" never truly worked for me. Netflix was good for a while but after an update, its stability completely changed.
Great PQ, but the TV never really reached the high levels that I was expecting (apps, refresh rate, and LG's customer service).

I had the same problem. I signed out, and signed back in, and the problem was solved.

They just released a new software update today. So far, I can't notice any changes. Everything SEEMS to work fine.
