In the US, these include the KDL-32R400A and the KDL-46R453A. I am particularly interested in these TVs because of their direct LED backlighting and their slightly larger speakers, compared to the thinner edge LED backlighting models. I plan on getting the 46" model as soon as my house is fixed up from the damage brought about by Hurricane Sandy. Has anyone tried the 32" model? How do you like it? How's its picture resulting from the direct LED backlighting? Also, how is the sound on its internal speakers? Except for my comparison thread, if there is already a thread here regarding these TVs, please PM me with a link, and delete this one.

I've tried the KDL-40R450A ... which is all in the same series. There is a dedicated thread on that size in the forum. I really like it, blacks are fine and motion blur is acceptable. I like the design and price. Its a really nice TV. I was replacing a broken 46XBR9 ... and I miss the 46" ... so am now waiting for the 46R453A to be released ... which should be mid-May.

I'm glad you can still buy non smart ... non 3D tv's without all the bloat that you have in a tonne of other devices.

I also tried the ROKU streaming stick with the 40R450A .. to turn it into a smart TV ... and it worked fine, and you can use the TV remote to control the ROKU.

Nice job, apw2607! I can't believe I missed that one! I'm sure the internal speakers aren't as good as Yamaha or Bose, but are they better than the internal speakers on a Toshiba or Samsung? I have a set of five large bookshelf Yamaha speakers I use for home theatre, but if the quality on the internal speakers is beyond what you'd expect, I'd rather start slowly and keep adding things with time.
