Are they all created equal? It seems the one single problem that LCD's displays cannot overcome is off axis viewing. The questions here are pretty basic. Who's panel is the best at providing off axis viewing? Does matte vs. clear have any influence? Does "Edge Lit" have any influence? Is something better on the horizon?

I wonder if Sharp's IGZO glass will have a positive effect on off axis viewing. Is Sony using the best available panel for their 70R550A? Are 3D and 2D panels interchangeable and just modified somewhere during the manufacturing process?
