I was convinced I was going to get the x10, but since I got such a good price on the x1 I don't think an extra $400 is worth just netflix. I guess I will just keep using the x1 until there is a 4k disc based sony player with the codec. Hopefully summer next year.
I thought Sony has over 200 4k movies available for download. That's why I've preordered the X10 player. Are you sure there's only about 10? If so, I don't need it for Netflix and a $500 player is certainly not worth a selection of 10 movies.

The other member needed to "root" his device maybe pm him it was not the same device though, but same problem page 318 of this thread

Exact model to my knowledge is the Tronsmart Vega S89H.

I've connected it to both HDMI 2 and 4, and I've used different HDMI cable just to be sure. I downloaded a few YouTube 4K videos. They are not being streamed. Display shows 4K output for sure.

Hi, did you get this resolved permanently as I have the same problem with my Minix X8-H?

No. I haven't been able to permanently resolve this problem yet. I simply have to reroot the box everytime I want to watch 4K, which while an inconvenience, is something I'm alright with living with until a permanent solution arises. I just got in contact with the tech support at Geekbuying, but I'm not sure how helpful they'll be at the end of the day.

that 200 includes all of the short 3-15 minute clips. 10 was an understatement...it is more like 25 full length movies. I got a great deal on the x1 and still feel like it is useless. There is just such little content right now. I am actually going to hold off on any 4k device until there is more available. I am perfectly happy with the way blu-rays look on these tvs.

I promise you will be very disappointed with the current selection in the sony 4k unlimited store. I honestly think by time they get enough content there will be so many other choices.

I do not think there is an updated list anywhere online. The most recent movies are american hustle, after earth, elysium, monument men, about last night. A lot of the movies look better than others and none of them look nearly as good as the demo's.

So you're getting a full 4K experience from that Android box?

AWESOME.

I am VERY tempted now. Any chance of a mini review?

Well, they didn't work due to the POS forum software switch. It took a bit of searching to find the actual posts referenced in the links, and to then edit my signature so the links are once again functional. I included the actual post numbers in case the links go bad again.

I certainly could! Its a quirky little box, so just list off the things you want to know and I'll be sure to include them in my mini review.

I really miss the ability to click on the subscribed threads and have it take me to the last post I saw in this thread since last login. Now I have to try and remember which page I left off on...oh well.

So lost without that. It makes it a chore to keep track of subscriptions

While I was there, I bumped into the LG OLED. I know its only 1080p, but I had never seen it in person. As usual, they had it running on torch settings. I dialed down the setting and it seemd to be pretty good.
Sigh... Decision's.
Where I bought my 900A, they had a 55"? inch OLED. It was ok, but I could not see the smaller size for the price made any sense. I thought the 65 Samsung Plasma looked better. I was afraid of any burn in so I went with the 900A Sony. My 65 inch 900A using AustinJerrys settings has black on the top and bottom (for 2.35:1) and black on edges of a non hd set that are very difficult to discern from the gloss black frame of the set(speaker edges). Maybe the OLED is better with blacks within the picture but I doubt it. If both sets were the same size and same price, It may be a tossup but not with the smaller OLED against 4k in a 65 inch. I bought a Darblet 5000 to give a little better detail look than the 1080i straight in, (I bought it primarily to help my 115 inch screen of my front projector compete better with the new 65 inch for movies but it is nice on the 900A too!). For the additional $ for the Darblet 5000 it is worth it to me. If you want a little more detail look from your new 900A, check into a Darblet.

I don't know for sure if the 103D will pass thru the internal Darbee a feed from a source other than the blu ray or dvd being played. I have a 103 (which I love) and for me it is a no brainer to just get the darblet 5000 for half the price of a 103D (since I have the Oppo already). My problem is I like the darbee effect for both my large 115" projector screen and for the 65" 900A and I have to do a plug and unplug to switch output between the two screens.

It does. I pass everything through a hdmi switch, then into the oppo, hdmi 1 to the tv and hdmi 2 to my avr. My cable box, blu ray player, and atv all get darbee applied.

Hey guys, So I bought a 55" with 5 year Geek squad for $3300 a few weeks ago, since the prices have dropped now, Best buy has agreed to exchange it for a 65" with 5 year Geek squad for additional $300. I don really need a 65" TV for my living room but is this too good of a deal to pass ? This is my everyday TV to watch regular cable. What do you guys think I should do ?
Since I am outside the return policy they will not price match my 55" to give me the $600 credit.

55" with 5 year Geek Squad = $2700 vs.
65" with 5 year Geek Squad = $3600

The warranty is up to you but if your purchasing a 55" set, I would purchase an OLED. 65" is the way to go, if you want a home theater and not a big TV.

My set arrived this morning, with time to put it on my AV stand, connect, plug in AustinJerry's settings, and watch the World Cup match today. Very pleased with the picture. I ran through a few tests with the WOW Disney disc, and I do not seem to have any uniformity issues (whew!), and I am quite happy with the black levels this TV puts out. I did have to set audio delay on my receiver to fix the slight out of sync video.

One thing I can't wait to do is watch my 3D movies on this. Any trick to calibrating for 3D? Anyone with recommended settings for 3D?

Same general settings for 3D. Except, increase Picture to 90, and increase Backlight to Max.

If you have the space for a 65, I would say go for it. Warranties can be had for cheaper from sony directly, but if it is true you are past your return period, I would take advantage of their generosity. You might even be able to return the warranty for a refund within a certain time frame.

Yes it does - your set is no different than mine.
The recessed panel on the right side for the HDMI ports may be the reason it is like that.

I live in a small place and my biggest regret in buying this tv was not getting the 65 inch, so the money side is upto you, once its paid it goes from my mind everytime I turn my tv on

I would get the 65 if you have the physical room - no such thing as too big if it fits in the space.
I also bought that same warranty at best buy.

From my sob story a few years ago - Sony with their warranty will try to give you a refurbished product in a box that looks like it went through WWII. The first replacement was literally a warped panel that was certified - the second had the LCD bulb shining out of the side of the panel through an unglued seam
Sad but true

Sorry, CJ, I am not a gamer. Perhaps someone else will have some advice.

Few others, as well as Breaking Bad and some other show I can't remember.. To be honest I love the X-1, wish the d/l speeds were better..But no complaints here...Can't have everything at once, even though I wished I could!! I learned a valuable lesson back in 2006 after purchasing the Samsung BDP-1000, patience..... One of the first Blu-Ray players that could best be described as a paperweight... lol
