The TV I just bought from Fry's is amazing but their trumotion 120hz technology sucks. I watched a couple of football games and every time there was quick movements in certain spots of the TV there are artifacts/tears/slow downs. The TV I bought cost me $930 on sale and it's a brand new 2013 LG model. Just curious if anyone here could recommend a TV for >$1200 that has good 120hz+ motion technology for football games. Besides that the TV is amazing considering the price I got it for.

Hate to tell you this but this is a problem with the motion interpolation technology inherent to all lcd/led's these days. I have yet to see an lcd/led with its motion interpolation turned on that has not had some sort of artifact/problem with sports programming (wether it be hockey/football/basketball). Try turning all the trumotion "enhancements" off and watch for awhile.. or just watch the tv in game mode and see if the motion handling suits you more... if not.. I'm afraid the only tv's that are going to satisfy you are going to be based on plasma tech.

What model LG is it and can you manually adjust the motion setting? If you can turn it on but turn judder to to anything from 3 or below. Even zero if you need to. Is the panel a 120hz tru-motion panel? That means it is actual a 60hz panel with 120hz software enhancements which doesn't even use interpolation but uses a technology of blacklight scanning.

The model iLG 60LN5710 and yes it does use the 120hz trumotion. I just tried playing some FPS on with my xbox 360 and the lag is horrible. Yes it lets me change from 0-10 for judder and blur. Messed with the settings but still artifacts and lag.

I had a 50in plasma that I sold before I bought this tv. Now I am considering just buying another plasma or getting a 240hz TV made by TCL. Hopefully the 240hz will do more than the trumotion 120hz

A 120hz tru-motion lg panel is really a 60hz panel. If it was a real 120hz panel it would say 240hz tru-motion.

Or DLP if you can still get one. It is immune to LCD motion problems.

I have ready that their 240hz truemotion is really just 60hz as well. I'm thinking about returning my TV and buying a 240HZ TCL TV this weekend

No, their 240hz tru-motion panels were real 120hz panels. 2012 models started at the LM7200/7600 level. Not sure where those panels start in the 2013 models. Not sure how good a TCL panel will be no matter what type of panel it has.
