Re. Machead47's experience with his/her KDL46HX820, I can "ditto" that. My panel failed 3 months out of the one year, manuf's. warranty. (Awful surprise!). Sony's customer service has offered me a refurbished replacement/comparable TV for $579. Am weighing things, now ... risk another failure from the HX release they might offer me, ask if they would permit my trading up to a KDL47W802? (an offer I think I'd accept - depending on my required cash outlay) or, get ready to start shopping and in the process evaluate a different brand.
