Samsung UN55F9000, UN65F9000, and UN85S9 models should be out at the end of July. These units are said to be back lit, full array with local dimming. Of course that will make for a nice price tag.

Samsung

55" $3500

65" $5000

Permanent. Well, until the next mfr ignites the next round of cuts...

(Sorry, shouldn't have said permanent as apparently Samsung declined to say. That said, I bet they are taking a wait and see to see how sales shake out.)

Only problem is Samsung did not comment on if these prices are permanent. But nice to know Samsung is not stupid and doing exactly what I thought they would do. Match Sony.

Well I decided to pull the trigger on this set and return the UN65F8000. It is an impressive TV, but for anew TV, I felt that I would be upgrading again in a year, but with the F9000, I will be content until OLED becomes the norm in 5 years. I am happy I went with the purchase so far and hope that the quality of Samsung will last at this level. I came from BB today and the build of this TV is much better built and solid. The picture is phenomenal. Now I have to upgrade my AVR receiver to 4K passthrough.

Well done.!!?

I push the trigger, and now, i am an owner of a new Samsung UE55F9000.

The picture is fantastic in HD , but i am not capable yet to see 4K material.

I tried from YouTube but it stack.

1 Can someone help me how to see material 4K (native) from YouTube?

2 The upgrade from HD is fantastic but how can i see native 4K material?

3 Which are the best video settings for this set?

4 Are they the same with F8000?

P.S.

The answers for my questions in 328 post are:

1 For f9000 sure for F8000 i don't know

2 without cable splitter . You don't have to split the cable coming from the aerial-antenna. Just one input.

3 And by your remote cursors you can select which one you want to control and change the channel on, and by the menu.

4 And by your remote cursors you can highlight the PIP box when you want to change the channel, and by the menu.

5 And by your remote cursors you change the channel in your highlight PIP Box, and by the menu.

Probably I was tooooo insist in PIP and PAP functions, but there was none of this information out there for PIP , PAP function for Samsung F9000.!! I am open for any help from anybody.

Thank you very very very much for the reply, but as i told you my english are not very good, so,IF you have more time please, i want you to explain me these:

1 The whole answer was for F8000 , F9000 or both?

2 You mean that i take the cable from the aerial-antenna (from which i see tv programs DVB-T mpg-4 digitals) and with a cable splitter ( it looks like T) i split the cable coming from the aerial-antenna and from the other side (two exit) run one cable to the satellite input of samsung and the other to the aerial-antenna input of samsug? (Here in Greece we don't have cable services, only free aerial-antenna DVB-T mpg-4 digitals programs )?

3 By your remote cursors you select which one you want to control and change the channel on, or by the menu?

4 By your remote cursors you can highlight the PIP box when you want to change the channel, or by the menu?

5 By your remote cursors you change the channel in your highlight PIP Box, or by the menu?

Probably i am getting tooooo insist in PIP, but nobody can help me now except you.!!

Thanks in advance

This all seems to be how I remember it. I wish I could be of more help however samsung has already picked my f9000 up and my f8000 is still out of commission until a panel becomes available. I'm in the process with sammy to also try and get a refund for the f8000. I don't like having a $7000 mirror!

The Sharp does not support HDMI 2.0, nor have I heard of any plans to make it HDMI 2.0 ready. It does support "native 4K input", but all that means is that it takes a 4K signal, not necessarily a 4K/60 signal.

This statement will always be true. If you wait a little longer, even 720P TV's will be less expensive.

Sharp should really get a hold of their customer service people then. I have called on 2 separate occasions and have been told that they will support hdmi 2.0. This is a real bummer. I will have to call again and try to talk to someone who actually knows for sure.

Its sad a company will say something about a product that is not true

4K or not 4k

Thanks...just watched the vid and got a lot of good knowledge from someone that watches tv for a living hahha.

Although he hasn't had significant time with any 4k set his info is mathematically sound. Depending on how far you sit there will be very little benefit of a small 4k screen.

Having a 65" in my man cave was a great place as it allowed me to set about 8' and enjoy the beautiful screen.

Prices will fall but who knows how much further and how long until they are at the 2k point.

I would like to wait but the more I stay on this forum the more I lust after 4k

Did they say that it supported HDMI 2.0 specifically, without being prompted? Or did they stick to their line of 4 inputs that support "native 4K" input?
