Hey guys,

It's been a very long time since I posted and I'm looking for a new TV. I have a Samsung 52" LCD that just started having the notorious bad capacitor issue and I'm debating between fixing it myself and/or buying a new one.

I'm looking at Smart TVs in the 65-70" range and would like a 240 hz (I play a lot of games and watch mostly sports). I'd like to find one that has the best NATIVE refresh rate... I know that there are some synthetic 120hz TVs out there and I imagine the same goes for the 240hz as well (if there even is a native 240 at this point). I don't care about 3D, Smart, or voice/motion control. I also don't really care what brand it is so long as the picture is great and it won't go bad on me in 3 weeks. Price isn't a major concern, but I also don't like spending extra money for features that I don't need.

I'd love some suggestions.

Thanks

Vizio 2013 m series. Great picture, no lag when gaming and the TV has sexy look. Oh, and great price!

If you are a gamer, Samsung panels, even at 60 hz, have very little lag.

Sometimes having a set that operates at 240HZ can induce motion blur - I think the refresh rate war is up to 480HZ

Is a "240Hz" LCD TV better than a 120Hz LCD?

On the other hand, if you don't want to worry about motion blur, and want a set with minimal lag, I'd suggest looking at a plasma.

Thanks for the replies.

My Samsung is a 120hz Series 6 LCD (from 2008) and I also have a 47" visio 120hz. There is a noticeable difference between the two and that's why I want to make sure I research and get a good new set.

My main room has a ton of windows so it's very bright, which is why I ruled out Plasmas since LCD\LED display brighter colors.

That said, My uncle picked up a 55" Samsung 240hz optimized/120hz native and there is a very noticeable increase in quality vs my 120hz Samsung. That definitely convinced me I wanted the 240hz.

The three that I'm looking at at the moment are the Vizio that Killa2009 mentioned above, the Samsung UN65F7100 ($2500) and Sharp LC-70LE757 ($2400).
