Yours is the non-3D model, correct?

If so, I think there might be some of the non-3D ones available.

My set came yesterday and it is new! I am pleased indeed! It also came with the keyboard backlit remote. However... Since I don't use Smart features, I should have kept my other remote which was also backlit but on the front where I use more of those functions. So I'm bummed about that. :-( Also the reception is much better with this TV and remote!
One thing that was also happening with my first set, it was starting to have this "bright washed out effect" when first powering on! This set does not. And I have verified all pixels are on and working from a white screen.
I'm still not hooking it up online because it looks fantastic!

Just wanted to add, I turned on my tv this morning and noticed smooth motion was on, went to check the firmware version and I received 1.60 as well.

My last summary on this tv after a board swap in Feb and last weeks firmware push I can say I'm so glad I stuck with it. After cal and tweks it's outstanding. No more motion breakup, ghosting, blooming. As vibrant as you could ask for...a year later. Still no regrets. Just my take.

Something odd and not to my liking at all on this new set... During bright or white screens, I'm seeing darker contrasting areas across the center area of the entire screen. Very subtle, but my vision is better than 20/20 so I catch everything. Any idea?

This makes sense! I woke up one day and thought something wrong with my eyes! The menu system has changed and all my saved (locked) calibration settings gone! Trying to input the old settings just doesn't look right. I have the M701d-a3 (3D) model. I have WoW but never was able to really get it looking the way it was before (I think ursa settings?)

Yea. Kinda seems pointless right now. Even comcast cable boxes still only output at 720p.

Not worth getting? I think that was around the same price of admission of my current 80" set. If I was in the market and that Det had 3D I damn sure would get it!

This still burns me about Vizio's latest offerings. No 3D really? But even without it, you'd be hard pressed to a competitor at a cheaper price.

While I would agree that the 2015 Vizio M80-C3 is not the bargain that some of their other TVs are. It most definitely is an outstanding 80” TV for the price.

I picked up my 2015 M80-C3 last week to go along with my 2015 M55, 2014 P50, E50, E48, and E40. The M80-C3 is definitely an exceptional TV. The FALD is terrific on this TV despite the fact that it has fewer zones than the P-series had last year.

Also the motion interpolation is terrific after the latest update. It even has settings that clean up the motion without noticeable Soap Opera Effect.

The 2015 80 inch M-series will certainly drop in price over the next few months. However, it really is a high quality TV for a lot less than its competition charges for the same size TV.

4K is not as widely available as we would want it to be. However, we are only about 3 months away from UHD Blu-rays that will truly show off what 4K can do. It won’t take a decade to see the benefits of 4K.

Guys,

I just purchased my Vizio M801D-A3, and can't seem to find recommended calibration settings that match the limits of my TV.

When i go to the color tuner my gain and offsets only go up to 100, but i see on posts some are posting level above 100.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance

-Sergio
