I would like to upgrade our tv. We currently have a 60 inch Panasonic plasma....and thinking about upgrading to a 75 or 80 inch screen. Budget is $3000 - $4000. From the research I have done through Costco's website, my choices are: Visio Razor 80 inch at $3700, Sharp Aquos 80 inch at $3200 or Samsung 75 inch at $3900. Basically, we will use this tv to watch movies and some sporting events.

If you are not interested in 3D, the Sharp is the best value, with the biggest screen. The Samsung 75 inch is Active 3D, and in my opinion, has the best performing panel in the bunch and the best black levels. The Vizio is pasive 3d, and personally, I don't like the design of the base. You do get what you pay for - I'd suggest the Samsung.

If you don not need the 3D then the new 75 inch Samsung 6300 series is now available. Around a thousand under the 6400 series. (here in Cal. Paul's is throwing in no tax and $300.00 store credit. This puts it way way below the 6400 series.. If a member can see it at Costco. Understand that besides the 3D you give up micro dimming...
