I bought my Samsung UN55D7000 new on black Friday in 2011. It has worked perfect until recently and is a great television. Just recently, after no settings changes of any kind, I started have an odd IR issue. I can no longer turn it on with the remote. I can still turn it off, change sources, etc but not turn it on. At first I thought it was an issue with the Logitech Harmony I was using, but I am having the same issue with the factory Samsung remote and my AT&T Uverse remote as well. Just recently I discovered that it I turn it off and immediately back on, it will work. However, if I turn it off and leave it off for more than a few seconds, it won't come back on. Has anybody had a similar issue? I called Samsung report and they said I need to contact someone to replace the IR sensor on the television. I don't see how my IR sensor could be malfunctioning only for "power ON". If it is the sensor, does anyone know where I can buy one? I'm capable of changing it myself.

Have you ruled out interference from fluorescent lights and sunlight? It doesn't make much sense why only the power on would be affected but I've had IR relays that acted weird at certain times of the day only during certain months of the year due to the angle of the sun and a few (im)perfectly placed windows.

Other than that... I have no idea.

It happens with the lights on or off, daytime or night. It happens all the time and only started recently. It worked from November 2011 to just a few months ago.
