picture quality is important to me. I have been very dissapointed with the Samsung ES6100. Severe clouding and white bright spots. I have had a panel replacement and the new panel is even worse.

I like deep blacks and popping color. The tv must have great uniformity. my budget is around $1000. I am tired of looking for a proper tv.

I keep thinking about moving up to a 50 inch Panasonic ST60, but I game a lot and am afraid of burn in.

Primary uses will be gaming and blu ray.

Best LCd this year is the Samsung Edge Lit UNXXF8000 which is over $1.000. The best LCd's are FALD (Full Array Local Dimming) You might find a 2011 Sony 46'' HX929 for $1.000 somewhere. It is number two when it comes to LCd PQ (Sharp Elite Pro is number one).

try either the EH/FH models (directlit LED) or the F models (still edgelit like your set but much better than ES models)
