I primarily use the tv for gaming, with occasional movie and tv watching. I don't care about input lag, but picture quality is important to me. With that said, I'm a little hesitant on plasma because I hear horror stories of Image Retention. Is it really that common?

Panasonic ST60
Sony 47W802A

I've had the st60 it's terrible I got IR right out of the box, the ps3 xmb retended I swapped it out in April.

I also had the lm7600 it had very bad clouding and the lag was awful I swapped that one.

I now own the kdl-47w802a it's ok but I've also been experiencing problems with it, every 802 I have had has uneven black levels and light leakage from the bezel I'm swapping out my fourth 802 this week. Check out the kdl-47w802a owners thread for pics.

On a side note I must say in my opinion the kdl-47w802a is the best on your list, and the input lag is the best for gaming it's like 17ms.

Why, Sony? Why?...
