Hi Folks
As you can tell I'm new here. I discovered this sight trying to untangle my picture problem.
Heres what I have 40" / 42 "Samsung LCD TV HD ready, mod. LN40A550P3/ X2A S
I think I purchased this TV around four years ago I tried to find my bill but must have filed it away.
I have Comcast cable their DVR I have HDM cables, they came out and hooked me up but the picture is nothing like I see today in an appliance store.
( Their ) color jumps out at you true color for sure bright as the sun!
I have had the cable replaced from the pole into a splitter But the coax to my TV is still the old 15 years or so now this may be my problem ??
I called Comcast and asked if I'm supposed to pay for a special HD fee and they said no.

My question ? Is is my TV already to old to receive a real life like picture like I see in the stores.

Also when I watch a reg tv channel like Fox then switch to a HDFox I don't see a great bit of difference
This is why I'm asking for some help here.

Do I need to purchase a new TV ? already????

Well I'm a happy camper
Looking here and there I found a web page telling me exactly how to go through my Samsung Menu and select the
correct setting Like brightness contrast, and much more.

Thanks for the web page here on AVS
