Hello, I just bought a Samsung 32 f5500 led TV. I have two networks in my house, one network is setup with a VPN so every device I connect to it shows a US location thus enabling me to get US Netflix Hulu etc.

I currently have my ps3 and a Samsung bluray player on this network and it works as intended.

I just hooked up the f5500 today (wired) and network status shows I have Internet access but when I go to start smart hub I get and error telling me my connection is unstable. I tried connecting to the same network over wifi figuring maybe there was something wrong with the Ethernet cable. No difference, shows connected but smart hub is telling me connection is unstable.

I decided to connect over wifi to my non VPN network and It works, I tested all the apps, they all work but no US netflix. I figured let me try to connect back to my VPN network, I got in to smart hub, but Netflix and Hulu both give a no connection detected error, however YouTube, espn score centre and cnbc work.

Anybody have any experience hooking a smart tv up to a router configured with VPN settings? Could the issue be the TV is setup for Canada but my router is giving it a US IP?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I found out how to change the App Store region to US and I also went into the service menu and changed the TV origin to US also. Still doesn't work. When I test the connection it confirms I'm connected to the net, It has an IP address, subnet, gateway etc but when I go to setup smart hub I still get the Internet connection unstable msg.

Does anyone have there smart tv successfuly connected through a VPN?

Figured it out, my main router had unblockUS dns settings inputed and I guess it was causing a problem going through a dns then a VPN. As soon as I removed the dns settings it connected fine.
