Got buggy166 and part-time-parks fixed up but I was 3 days late on one of those.
Sony2014 and zionone I just sent yours. Dumping any RCA cables for video and you will see just how great the picture is when using the HDMI or Component cables. It's a huge jump going from a CRT analog TV to a all digital TV and digital satellite receiver.
One of you mentioned needing gaming settings, live hockey game settings and streaming blu ray. Ok my settings are for the Sony KDL-65W850A but I have heard back from many saying these settings worked on their new 65W850B sets which was first sold in 2014.
Some use the Scene-Selection/ Game for the fastest 18ms lag speed. You would have to set the Scene-Selection back to General after playing games to prevent the set from auto switching you to some different video level you might not like when watching a movie. By setting it back to General you can then use the 3 main picture-mode settings which work best.
Those are Vivid which I use for any live games, auto races or watching any blu-ray/ DVD's or streaming any movies.
Another picture-mode is, Standard I use a lot for music shows or regular TV watching.
Picture-mode, Custom although with my settings it looks more movie like in a darkened room. Custom has the least blacks and lower contrast.
I once forgot and left it set to Standard. I walked by the set and saw a rather faded low contrast sitcom TV Show my wife was watching. I took the remote and moved it from Custom to Standard and then the picture looked great.
Enjoy your sets, to me these sets are right up their with a great picture as good as any of these new sets coming out.
I wanted a second Sony W850a with the lower price but they are very hard to find. My wife say's no. Sony comes out with a affordable 75 inch set you will be wanting one. Gee, she reads me like a book. lol
